Does Boise State Deserve Title Shot?

But when you have a Non-BCS team in the BCS National Championship game...

That doesn't even make sense. It's like an oxymoron.

Well, why doesn't it make sense, IF Boise State does everything they are supposed to do to get to that championship game? Again, you can't set up a system like the BCS with all of its rules and by-laws and eligibility standards to play in one of the huge games on January 1st and then start crying and whining when a team like Boise State takes advantage of the system and does everything they are supposed to do. That's ridiculous and silly.

I'm sure that the "old boys club" in the BCS conferences never imagined that a program like Boise State would ever get to the point where they can possibly compete for a national title when they set up and then subsequently tweaked the system. For them to cry and whine about it now is laughable.

The original question was "Does Boise State Deserve a Title Shot?". "Shot" is the key word here IMO. They obviously deserve a SHOT at the NC. Whether or not they will get that shot is another question?

It is nearly impossible, the way it is currently set up, for a team like Boise St or TCU to make it to the NC game. Their schedules just won't allow it. And nobody wants to play them either. Boise has tried to schedule a lot tougher opponents, but not many teams have the guts to play them in their non-conference schedule. Kudos to VA Tech for doing it.

But IMO... Boise St has the looks of a team that could definately win it all, if given the chance in a playoff... which college football DESPERATELY needs. And that is why I want them to go undefeated. I want this BCS system to get royally screwed up enough so they are forced to go to a playoff.

I think Boise St is WAY more talented than Iowa for instance. I was amazed at the athletic ability all over the field for them against Va Tech. They are VERY good. But they won't get the chance to prove it enough this year I'm afraid. It's sad... and not right either.

It has nothing to do with other teams not having guts. Boise State complains about not being able to schedule anyone while demanding large paydays from schools. If Boise State wants in the national championship, since their conference schedule is a joke, they need all 4 nonconference games to at very least be some level of BCS opponent to make up for it.

Actually, we just need a playoff because as it stands today, Boise doesn't deserve a shot at the title game. Virginia Tech proved that this week.
