Anyone else having issues with Directv? Some of my HD channels aren't coming in.

I called (twice) the first guy on the line was about worthless, telling me to reset the receiver. Really? no kidding...

The second had me run some tests, and said they needed to schedule a service call. The tests showed nothing wrong, she thought it was probably the receiver. This one is free, because I have been a "loyal" customer. I asked her about this, and she said typically these visits are $50. WTF? They have a problem with THEIR equipment, and they want to bill YOU for it? Remember, you are just leasing their stuff...

If the service wasn't free, I would of cancel their service.

I have been having issues with the screan freazing up some. Is there snow or ice on your dish? I had to clean my lenses off a while back. It could also have to do something with the new price increase.

It's the same with Directv or Dish. You have a problem with the receiver you're leasing, they charge you for a new one. Not sure where they came up with that scam, but they both do it.

I called a few months ago complaining about it and my bill and they said they would send me new one.

I'm very very tempted to go rogue and s-can it all.

I might actually become productive in the evenings then. During summer/fall, I probably go days even weeks without turning a TV on.

If it is within a ladder reach and by firm ground...
Go out and whack the snow and ice off. I have had the issue twice.
Both times I cleared the dish, and I was back in business.

No problems lately (even with all the snow)

That's what's been surprising to me. I always hear these Mediacom commercials about satellite systems going out in bad weather. Mine hasn't gone out once this year while Mediacom had some major outages due to weather.

Yes I don't get this either. I switched from Mediacom to Dish Network in fall of 2007 and have never had my picture go out once for any reason. Not snow, rain, wind, anything.

Two nights ago I couldn't get ESPN2 on ch. 209, but I was still getting it on ch. 72 so not a biggie.

Last night I checked and it was coming in on 209 again.

No problems as of now.

I've had DTV since 2004 and only lost it once due to snow. Obviously, rain has taken it out multiple times.

My father did have to clean the dish off this year at his place.
