Demarion Watson

He didn’t even get mop up minutes which makes me think he is hurt. Otherwise I’m confused
Agree. Must be dinged up, thinking of redshirting, or in the dog house for something. Otherwise he would have been in at the end. I still believe he can contribute on this team as he did last year later in the season.

Not in basketball. You are confusing football and basketball redshirt. If you play in one game in basketball you burn it unless you can get a medical waiver, and even then you are only eligible for the redshirt if you play less than a certain amount of games.
Pretty sure that changed with the House settlement.

Edit: I see it was being considered, but don't see where it has happened yet.

I went back and forth with some people on Twitter about this earlier. Why are we so damn obsessed with a player that hasn’t showed a ton? Obviously there is a reason he isn’t playing. We are extremely talented and deep this year. He isn’t good enough otherwise TJ would be playing him. That’s it. There are others who TJ believes are better, and it doesn’t have to be more than that. This gets so old every year.
That doesn't explain why he isn't playing when the walk ons get in.

In wrestling if you are a freshman, you can compete in 5 events and still maintain your redshirt. I just assumed that was implemented for all winter sports, but it apparently wasn’t.

That's not it at all. Explain then why he didn't even get in with the walk-ons? A guy who scored 15 in a game against a Big 12 team last year is worse than Kelderman?
But why do we care so much about it? There clearly is a reason. We don’t have to have another thread about it every time us fans don’t know why he didn’t play.

Humans have a need to argue so we'll find the dumbest stuff to do so about.

One strength of TJ's program has seemed to be transparency and honesty with his players on where they stand and I'd guess this is no different.

Every year there is one guy where the fans ask “why isn’t he playing?”

Tristan Enuruna
Terrence Lewis
Xavier Foster
Omaha
Etc

Sometimes a player just isn’t as good as the other players on the team. Trust the coaches.

True, but he didn't even play when they cleared the benches and put in the walk on.

You're the one writing a long paragraph on the subject. Why open the thread?

He is the one guy that is that long athlete type that can guard the other teams gazelles and rebound against it. Auburn exploited that. The CU coach thought he could, he said in the time out we were slow footed. If there is one weakness on our team it is we do not have that 6'5 to 6'8 long athletic type. Maybe we do not need that to win this year because we are good enough at other things to compensate for not having it. But if we need it, Watson is the guy. My hope is he is redshirting and TJ has told him with all these final year players on the roster he will have a big role next year.

Good lord, some of you need to take a chill pill. If people were using the subject to question the coaching staff or call the player a bust like what happened with Omaha last year I would understand the reaction, but there is none of that. There is nothing wrong with wondering why a junior on the team who has shown flashes of promise in the past is now seemingly behind the walk-ons on the depth chart. Chill the **** out.

So I could say exactly what I said. Don’t be a ding dong.

A lot of fans are genuinely interested in why he didn't get in at all yesterday. Not even when they cleared the bench. He did some good things for ISU last year.

Maybe I missed the CF rule book about what fans can and can't be concerned about? If so I apologize.
