I don't think you would like the results if you randomly did drug tests on student athletes.
I know what the results would be and they are all randomly tested by compliance.
I hope someone judges you harshly when you are accused of something. You've probably never been in the public eye, but it can be very unfair and the story lopsided.

Don't jump to conclusions without the facts. For you to make judgments, at this point, like the one above in is unfair to this young man without more facts than unsubstantiated rumors flying around in an anonymous message board thread.
He's an idiot for putting himself in the position regardless. He can't keep his nose clean for 6 months in what will determine his next step in life (pro basketball or other)? There are varying levels of being a dumb *** we just aren't sure which one he's on right now.

He can bond out for $160.

I'm not sure that he's even charged with a violation of Iowa Code, but rather an Ames City ordinance. Iowa Code uses the term "Gatherings Where Controlled Substances Are Used" and not "Drug House".

Based on the three charges showing, I'm guessing that there was someone who wasn't BDJ smoking weed in his apartment. BDJ would have been likely charged with possession of marijuana and not "Drug House". Or at least in addition to it. He probably ran his mouth to the cop, so the cop arrested him on this BS charge, which he would have had probable cause for (since there likely was someone smoking weed in his house).

He shouldn't miss a minute of tomorrow night for it, IMO. I'd say the same if it was an Iowa player.

I'm going to listen to this fancy lawyer boy. The scenario seems pretty likely.

No. He will not plea today and, in my experience, the judge would strongly advise him against pleading to this charge and suggest he speak with an attorney first. I imagine the public defender will be appointed and then he will be free to seek his own counsel if he so chooses.

Ya, he just needs to enter a PLEA, not necessarily plead guilty. I'm not sure how experienced you are with getting arrested for minor offenses but I'm speaking from experience.

Hosting a drug house is not just having someone "light up" in your house.

It is when you tick off an office and he writes you up for anything possible and leaves it up to the County Prosecutor to make the charges stick.

yeah I was wondering if a city ordinance was being used rather than Iowa Code.

Rob & I are still compiling credible information.

What we know: BDJ is in jail. Rob spoke to the jail, who confirmed this.

Other than that, there are a lot of unknowns out there that will be sifted through today. Should know more this afternoon but nothing definitive before then.

Did you ask them if they took CF coupons for bail?

Well if you want to look at the positives all the time it will give Nader/someone else a chance to step up and possibly allow them to have a breakout game.

Seems that some people are saying it's not too serious? I would still have to believe he'll sit out a game or two.

I'm hearing Nadar was there also.

Hosting a drug house is not just having someone "light up" in your house.

Everything I am reading says it is. That guy who was smoking pot because of his cancer in the Quad Cities; his parents were charged with hosting a drug house for letting their son smoke pot in their house. BDJ was not charged with possession or distribution.

Man........ all players need to be smarter than this, but especially players in a position like he is in. Doing well on the court, getting all kinds of notice and praise, NBA future looking brighter with virtually every game played........you just can't put yourself in any situation that might mess that up. Just a dumb thing to do.
