I love Fred. Good for him for saying this is a decision I came up with, and not a code of conduct thing. Dude is simply a stand up man. He knew some whack offs (like Marty) would react like they did, but his integrety means something. Can't say that for a lot of people in his profession anymore.

Oh. And hes super handsome.

I would never question Hoiball, its a disappointing decision that he had to make to save face because all of the media outlash. Its same kind of thing that gets Adrian peterson a 10+ game suspension for committing a misdemeanor.

No it is a decision that he had to make because he has a player who isn't getting what his responsibilities are to play a sport at Iowa State, especially a sport coached by Fred Hoiberg. Fred feels that the program is a reflection on his professional integrity. When players screw up, they have to be accountable. Fred is all about second chances as his transfer program has shown, but it is then up to the players to own up to their responsibility for their past mistakes and turn it around. If they won't do that, they are going to have to face some consequences. Fred is responsible for the whole program and if one player is doing things that are detrimental to the program and when confronted about it is unwilling to adjust behavior he has a responsibility to deal with it.

When I manage employees I sometimes have to administer discipline. The ones who get it say "I screwed up, I won't do it again." The ones who don't get it say "How can you do this to me?" You can guess which ones end up in trouble again.

You can't really be this dense, right?
If Fred wanted to make a point to BDJ why didnt he suspend him 5 games instead of 1? How come his roommate Nader didnt get any games? He gave BDJ 1 game because there were pictures of him in chains with an ISU bball shirt on and multiple sports websites headlining him running a drug house.

I think BDJ deserves the suspension BUT I do think there is a little bit of credence to the fact that there was a media circus/reaction/backlash to his charges that were dropped that created an atmosphere where he had to be suspended.

If the cops originally understood that they couldn't charge him with the drug house thing, we never hear about this and BDJ is no more/less in the right/wrong.

I don't think BDJ's "crimes" deserve suspension, but I do think ISU has no choice at this time with the bad press there would be and the heightened focus that would be there tomorrow.

So exactly how many noise warnings & conduct warnings does he deserve before a 1 game suspension? 20?

Ok - I'm genuinely am curious about the diversity of those 9 various complaints.

I get the 3:40 AM, the 2:57, 2:41 and the 3:02. People being loud late at night bug me too. I'm odd that way and have this thing about being respectful about others privacy.

But the 11:23, 11:44 and maybe even the 12:17 seem to be a bit much - especially if these are barely over ordinance levels and many didn't even break it.

Seems to me that BDJ just needs to get out of there - that may be the best thing all the way around.

Seriously, 3 times they didn't turn the music down, 5 times cops heard nothing when they got there, and one time it was a crazy woman who wouldn't leave his apartment.

Reminds of a neighbor I had that would sit in her house and watch every move we made. Called the cops on us the second our car was parked in the same spot on the street for 24 hours and 1 second. These people exist, some need to stop pretending like they don't.
