Perhaps De'Amontae Jackson can become our version of Shawn Jackson (the LB from Tulsa). Remember, Tulsa's LB that was 6'0" and 260lbs and caused us such fits a few years ago.

Why isn't CF reporting this? It does not seem like breaking news and yet nothing from CF and a few other outlets...seems weird. Awesome pick up btw!

With the two juco defensive tackles Tucker and Leath and now Jackson the problem of being soft against shouldn't be as much of a problem in 2015.

Impressive signing.

I wonder what position we were recruiting him for. Would be nice to have a LB with that size. Welcome aboard, sir!

With our needs at DT, and his size at 265, I would be shocked if he does't end up at DT. He switched to DL his senior year in high school too. Most kids at that age are still growing, so asking him to cut 10-20 lbs. might not be feasible. He really does remind me of Curvey in his film-athletic DT is what I would project.

Probably not a real firm commit or has other visits yet and tells every team he's committing.

Rivals has him as a "solid" verbal. Not to mention we've got several "soft" verbals before and they've been reported. Just strange, that's all.

I just checked Rivals and he is no longer listed as committed.

Strong, quick, and fast. I'll take it. I won't mark this one down in the win column yet because I'm sure some big dogs will come at him late and he has seemed to waiver somewhat on his decision prior to his visit but I really hope we sign him. Might be a kid that we put a ton of weight on next yr but still play him and rotate him at DT and DE for a few plays to get his speed out there for pass rushing.

Still listed as High for us, probably waiting on verifying outside of tweet.... Has some grade issues the way it looks, but huge offer list.....

Where have you seen anything about grade issues? Missed that one.

Scout & 247 Recruiting list as a commit, so hopefully the majority rules.

It would awesome if he could play MLB. We need a Levon Kirkland-type in the middle wreaking havoc. You youngsters out there probably haven't heard of him. He was 6'1" 270-lb MLB for Clemson then the Steelers. Would be great to have such a player in the middle for us. However, if he shifts to another position & helps us win, I would care less. We need football players making plays, & D'A-J looks like he fits that description.
