Deace Predictions

ISU will win more than 3 games, but it's hard for me to think they'll win more than 6 as well.

Hopefully CPR can get us over that hump (7-8 wins), or he'll lose some of his luster by the end of next season.

I've said it before, and I pray it's not true, but CPR might be the RIGHT coach at the WRONG time.

Our OCC schedule isn't doing him many favors.

I hope that fans will be patient with Rhoads and realize how difficult the schedule is

I agree. The Big 12 is tough sledding and with the new schedule, it is even tougher for us.
The Big 12 could easily go undefeated in their bowl games this year.
Win or lose, I'm going all in with Rhoads, and we'll see how the chips fall.

God help us if our offense decreases in production next year.

95th in passing, 74th in rushing, 96th in points scored...

I'm thinking the offensive coordinator is going to need a little divine intervention as well if offensive production decreases next year...

Schedule is a bugger next year.
UNI - win
Iowa - winnable
UConn - winnable
Texas - loss probable
Baylor - loss strong
Missouri - loss probable
ATM - loss strong
TTech - loss probable
Kansas - win
OU - loss strong
OSU - loss strong
KSU - winnable
That projection puts us from 2-10 to 5-7 if we pick up the winnable games.

Why is Baylor a "highly probably loss?" We've won a few conference road games the past two years, I'm not sure that they will be significantly better than we are. Is Griffin possibly going to be drafted? Seems like that should be a winnable game to me.

RGIII is not going pro (or that was the last I heard about a week ago down here in Austin). And the reason they'll be really good next year is they return 4 of 5 starting OL and 2 more than saw good minutes in their rotation. That line was the main reason they had a 1200 yard back in Jay Finely this year. Finely graduates, but they have a couple of good backs behind him. They're offense should be even better next year and will probably average 35+ next year. I don't know much about their Defense, but if they score 35 on us, it is pretty much a guaranteed loss, since we've scored 35 in a conference game only 2 times in the last 5 years (and we lost both games anyway).

What's even the point of making predictions right now? Basically no information to go on, and in some cases we don't even know who the coach will be next year.

We scored 52 vs. TT, and we won that game going away.

I'd bet my house ISU wins more than 3. We may not bowl but we win more than 3 games. Bank it.

You'd bet your house on a team who doesn't know who their starting qb will be next year? I bet you could've asked any Texas fan at the beginning of the year how many wins they thought they'd get and they would've said a few more than 5. Goes to show how important having a qb with experience of running the offense can have on a team's success. Might wanna re-think betting your house bud

i honestly think iowa state will have to be top 20 *caliber* to win 6 games next season. We will play probably 6 ranked teams. And even teams who ARE top 25 worthy lose a game or two they should win.

man, that schedule is brutal. But i think we'll beat baylor. @baylor isn't that intimidating. they had their day in the sun.

We can beat iowa, UNI, UConn, baylor, kansas. But thats maybe about it. I'll throw k-state in there too if thomas doesn't return (?)

Thomas is a senior. He gone. Why is Texas going to be unstoppable? Mizzou doesn't look to have a game breaker at receiver going forward.

Because they are Texas. This year was a fluke. They may have the most talent from top to bottom by recruiting rankings than any other team in the country. They will also have the stud recruit RB next year (Malcom Brown I think his name is). Texas will be a top 15 team at the end of next season I would bet

I can easily see that happening.
We lose our best QB, our best receiver (who was a TE), our best RB, and our best lineman.

He might have been our best QB but he did not fit this offense. You can give me all the stats you want but I watched him play. He could not make the quick reads and was not accurate enough to run Herman's offense.

We have run the ball ALOT the past two years. I believe the reason for this is because of our defense where we were young and very thin. We ran the ball to shortern the game. In my opinion, Herman was limited by QB play and what Rhoads wanted him to do.

I am looking for changes next year. I am a little worried about QB but not for the reasons most of you think. I get the feeling that the reason for the JUCO QB was not because of Tiller but because of the lack of depth behind him. Barnett must not be ready and I just don't think Capello is going to be the guy.

These are just my opinions but I think the offense is going to look much different next year no matter who the QB will be.

Who's Steve Deace? Is he that fat guy I used to see on t.v once and a while? What sports did he used to play?

They may end up a top 15 team when its all said and done, but they won't be that team early in the season.
