It will cost a whole lot when a few thousand fans don’t renew next year and drop their donation.

Think donations will generally be fine with how football is doing. But a few thousand non-renewals isn’t pocket change.

What does his buyout decrease per year? 1.5MM? Was thinking that for some reason. That would mean the break even ticket area would be about 8k besides estimating student tickets. If the buyout decreases more for waiting a year the ticket number decreases. If the buyout decreases less then JP would have to feel confident that he could sell more than 8k.

I'd say it's a no brainer to sell 8,000 actual attendance might be an issue though.

Yet, he still won the game without his leading scorer. If you base our coaching search on timeout usage, we are in trouble. Devries would be a great hire. If we don't grab him, some other P5 team will.
Coach Darian DeVries might just be the Next Chris Beard, regardless of what school grabs him!

Drake and Loyola Chicago played more defense in this One Game than ISU has in this whole frickin' season!

You guys think he's going to resign now and give up what's left on his contract? I think Prohm is a nice guy, but not that nice.
Wouldn't want to be JP. Funds are enormously tight. Budgeted funds, most likely, altered extensively. So, finding funds for buyout are slim to none. Prohm not likely to bow out of the contract. So, JP is backed into a corner by vicious dogs who don't even want a bone. Creative thinking might be hire DD as associate coach (replacing one [or more] of the other assistant coaches) with guarantee to take over as head coach upon Prohm's existing contract expiring. Just a thought, but given current circumstances, this type of thinking is what might be required.
EDITED: Read on before knew jerking an emoticon. I capitulated, but am still seeking answers to pressing questions.

Figured out of the box thinking like this would get a response like yours, but what ideas do you have where money doesn't grow on trees?

Seriously, you think DD or hell, any coach, would agree to come here for 1 year to work under a lame duck coach just so we can decrease his buyout? LOL.

theyll meet in the middle
Then that's not resigning, that's firing. Prohm has all the leverage. Not sure why he would even meet in the middle, but again maybe people are banking on him being a really nice guy. That would be really nice of him to leave half his contract behind.
