I do not think so. Cy's Locker Room is the retail store owned but the Athletic Department.Am I remembering correctly that Cys locker room was replaced as the official ISU clothing retailer?

The thing I worry about is the ROI...Ames is a small college town, especially when students are gone during the summer. I don't think students are going to flock to CyTown over Campustown. One of the weirdest things on this board and twitter is the amount of people seemingly cheering against this project

I don't disagree with the location but there have been companies that have tried to run stores in Ames and they've flopped because there just isn't a high enough demand to keep it going.Maybe not. It's still commercial land in the center of town with two high traffic roads right there. In terms of a place for new development I doubt there are many better places in Ames.
Missed that, but looks like Cy's Locker Room is still the brick and mortar outlet.![]()

I prefer the store in the Memorial Union.Missed that, but looks like Cy's Locker Room is still the brick and mortar outlet.

Better selection than Cy's Locker room, Rally House in Ames beats both of them. I don't even bothering checking out Cy's Locker room anymore, just head right to Rally House better selection and larger sizes.I prefer the store in the Memorial Union.
Yeah, Cy's Locker Room changed managing companies before. The original company had a loyalty program that was pretty good and went away with the current management.Yeah, just being managed by a different company now
Probably some thoughts like this.Yep, very strange. Is it because they feel like they lost "their" parking spot they use 6-7 times a year?
Thr one argument is that tailgating might be impacted. The lots will certainly more spread out even if there are more spots so it won't necessarily have the same feel.Probably some thoughts like this.
In reality, there are more parking spots than we had before this development.
I love Ames in the summer (I am an Ames resident) but it is a ghost town lol.
What is funny is some of the people I know that complain the most about it.Thr one argument is that tailgating might be impacted. The lots will certainly more spread out even if there are more spots so it won't necessarily have the same feel.
But to act like baby's about a parking lot is weird though.

If the event calendar has something every week sure... but if it's once every 4 weeks that's prob not going to get the job done.If you ignore all of the events bringing people in, sure.

Well considering I live here, I have. And I'm not saying it's some random podunk town, but the population drops dramatically once the spring semester ends and there are just less people in town. Then I’m guessing you haven’t spent any summer weekends in Ames the past five or so years. I’m alway shocked at the number of people that treat Ames like it’s some backwater hillbilly bumpkin town when school isn’t in session.
