Cyhawk postgame thread

Especially when they don’t need a continuity hire. They need a change hire. That means all new coaches, mass xfers in and out, and a culture change.
My guess is, if KF does retire shortly, they’ll promote Parker as a bridge coach.

And he’ll know his own limitations enough to hire a competent OC, and hand him the reins.

but that is just more of the same culture of winning games by being tougher for longer. its doubling down. its also taking a chance on a guy who has never been a HC before. and it also means you need to replace your best coordinator.

I have been depressed, sad, frustrated etc. after several ISU losses whether it was an upset, weird loss in Hilton or whatever but have never been just pissed for like 4 days afterward like that game.
IIRC, it would have been win #8 on the season which doesnt happen all the time and it greatly affected the bowl game selection and sent us to memphis instead of a better bowl.

I think Seth Wallace would be the heir apparent there, but I’m guessing the AD wants to wash her hands of the whole staff and go in a different direction altogether.

I don’t have any relevant pre-Fry memories.

As the sole Cyclone fan on the playground when he arrived that dumb tigerhawk still triggers my fight or flight fight response.

I used to ride with my dad when he worked on Saturdays. Would have the Iowa games on the radio.

Biggest thing I remember from the radio was them hoping that the coach’s son would be a good QB. Er, just looked up his stats. Cough.

Coincidentally, prior to Iowa, Bob Commings coached in Matt Campbell’s hometown—at the “other” powerhouse HS.

Maybe UI will hire another HS Coach again?

I grew up in the thick of Haydenism (80s/90s) but parents etc remember very well how Iowa fans have always been.
We’re close in age.

True story: My great-grandfather wrote letter to my high school age dad instructing him that he was to attend Iowa and not Iowa State.

My dad became the first ISU grad in the family and I didn’t need to hear any other stories to know my great-grandfather was a prick.

One of the first possessions happened right beside our tailgate. ISU fan got the ticket, Iowa fan didn’t. The officer looked at the Iowa fans ID and told him, you’re barely 21. Is that like saying a woman is barely pregnant? Either you are or you aren’t.
I was walking around parking lot A3 looking for a friend. I saw 3 Iowa kids with a case of Coors and they looked pretty young. I told them to be careful, cops were checking IDs (I dont want to see anyone get busted). They laughed at me and said they were old enough. I walked by a few minutes later and the cops were writing tickets. You cant fix stupid.

Yes?

We’re talking about Iowa here.

Maybe Beth gets it, but we’ll see. Didn’t she just pass the reins for WBB, or am zi off a year?

Couldn't have happened to a "better" group of kids.
