Cyhawk postgame thread

Observations:

Iowa is not that bad.....just not great.
Hard to get a read on their QB. Gives them another dimension, but isn't really fast and I'm not so sure the captain is going to really let him run much for fear of injury. And for some reason he seems really scared to let it go. Maybe that will change as the season unfolds.
Their defense is good again......not great. Rocco had receivers open that he either over threw or they dropped.

I thought Matt and Houser called a very good game. But like above......too many misses and drops. That miracle tip was a very bad pass. Very fortunate.
The defense stays healthy, as good as it is now.....be very salty towards money time.
I can't ever remember having a weapon at kicker like ISU does now. I can remember for years ISU was lucky to make an extra point.

Good tough game overall and I think having that first game against KSU did help.
Houser was fine, but Mouser sucked.

One of the big problems is hawk radio is on AM. Cyclone network is all on FM and small market, low power stations. I hate having to be on the move during Cyclone games, because you seem to constantly have to search for a station because you are in and out of coverage areas constantly.
540 am KWMT gets pretty good coverage as long as it is a day game. They power down at sunset

Had to watch the final Iowa drive on delay because my youngest pup decided to hork all over everything for 5 minutes during that kickoff. I think she must have licked where I had squashed a wasp, but who knows.

This one just adds another layer of belief in what this team and staff are doing, and there's no question that they expected to find a way today and they did.

Fact that might get overlooked: Iowa decided to go into the wind in the 3rd quarter, which meant we would have to kick any critical 4th quarter FGs into the wind. They followed that up by eating most of the 3rd quarter clock with their long drive. Good strategy that almost paid off...

except we have cold blooded kicker whose nutz drag on the ground when he walks around campus. Surprised they don't get in the way when he kicks.
