Cyclones in the pros 2023-2024 (hoops)

As noted, the Pacers beat the Cavs last night in a combo tournament / regular season game. Neither Cyclones was blazing hot but both contributed.

Haliburton: 34 MIN, 18 PT, 5-14 FG, 0-5 3PT, 8-9 FT, 2 RB, 13 AST, 2 STL, 4 TO.

Niang: 27 MIN, 12 PT, 4-9 FG, 2-6 3PT, 2-2 FT, 5 REB, 1 AST, 0 TO. Not high percentages from the field but still waaaay better than his season averages to date.

Maybe you didn't notice:

Last game, Haliburton didn't play vs. the Celtics and the Pacers lost by 51.

Same was true when he was injured last year. Playoff team win% with him, horrific almost winless without him.

Better 3pt efficiency for Georges tonight - 2-4 for 6 pts (and 6 boards) in 25 MIN. The Cavs beat Golden State to move to 3-4. It's big that PG D. Garland is back from an injury.

A less-than-glowing review of Talen Horton-Tucker's (and Jordan Clarkson's) performance as a starter so far:

Sounds about like his1 college year. Super talented, prone to over dribble and force his own action. I love the guy, but it’s a bit frustrating to watch.

Was thinking the same thing.

When he played within the system it was fantastic but if the ball stuck it didn't go well for pretty much anyone.

Basketball is a beautiful game when the ball is moving.

And teams and individual players tend to do better too. There's exceptions with superstars but they also tend to be very good at distributing within the system too.

It's always amazing when players don't realize it.

Floors are expensive, is this a actual floor or do they some how do like a wrap over their conventional floor?
They are different courts. The Timberwolves have their Standard court, Classic court and City court. And then of course this year they all have In Season Tournament courts.

Feel like it’s a vinyl application, that is a pain to apply but is removable. But I honestly have no idea other than working tangentially in that space (graphics/design)

Yeah, I remember mumbling about him over-dribbling a bit at ISU. In the last two years, we heard more about his inconsistent outside shooting than playing Harden ball.

I don't feel it, I've seen the Timberwolves courts (the regular season ones at least) stacked up in 4x8 pieces. They are individual courts. The NBA is a rule making machine and there is no way they would allow a team to cover a court entirely in vinyl. They understand what an investment players are and they don't do anything that could even be construed as threatening player safety. Covering an entire court with a vinyl cover would be potential for something to go wrong and they don't want a $100M player to have a serious injury because one of the teams did something on the cheap.

And the Lynx court is still another court...
