I think Euton could be in the mix at 165. Hard worker and grinder type.So exciting. What are the odds we see him in the lineup next year? I have to think he's taking down Kysen even if he's new to folkstyle.
I know Echemendia himself said he wasn't going 141 next year but if we fantasize for a moment...
125: Osmany
133: Frost
141: Echemendia
149: Johnson
157: Swiderski/Chittum?
165: Swiderski/Chittum/Other?
174: Gaitan
184: Naakt
197: Bockman
285: Bastida
That is one hell of a scary team.
Yeah 165 seems like one of the biggest question marks for me, just not being familiar with Euton/Rojas as much and not knowing if any of the other guys are big enough to make it there.I think Euton could be in the mix at 165. Hard worker and grinder type.
65 is a different animal than 33 but it seems the tea leaves point to Euton having some Frosty like potential for surprise. (And he has the benefit of continuing to train with David)I think Euton could be in the mix at 165. Hard worker and grinder type.
I like that sound of that65 is a different animal than 33 but it seems the tea leaves point to Euton having some Frosty like potential for surprise.
Could be wrong, I haven’t seen it first hand but reading between the lines, it sounds like there’s a lot to like with that kid.I like that sound of that
Taking it from someone directly in the program as a coach, I’ve brought up Euton a number of times over the past 2 years because he has been so complimentary of him. Hidden gemI think Euton could be in the mix at 165. Hard worker and grinder type.
Guessing with the guys at U20 U23Where is Metcalf at?
First off, too much positivity and optimism can lead to some performance anxiety for some guys. They need doubters and people who don’t believe in them to fuel them. If you’ve ever coached you know this, we don’t know how the guys internalize things. Secondly, they are now nearly professional athletes getting paid. When we were college athletes we weren’t getting paid, at least I wasn’t. Most of the guys like the attention. But most people on here pay for season tickets, show up to fundraisers, donate, and hype on social media. When you ask a lot as a fanbase it’s fair to have criticism when performances don’t happen and the answer is just “raise more money to buy a proven commodity”. Or maybe just get the already talented guys to that next level and performing their best, that’s what you ask of the athletes and coaches who are asking for money. Yonger did not perform his best at nationals and he knows that. He would be the first to admit it and I would guess that’s fuel on the fire for next seasonIt doesn't matter if someone knows wrestling. Whether a fan or not, the constant negativity and belittling of student athletes is not necessary. I have skepticism as well, but I don't come on here bashing our athletes.
When I was a college athlete, I remember how hard it was to meet my own expectations, let alone others'. That was before the days of social media. I know coaches tell the kids to stay off of message boards, but do they all listen? I doubt it. If constantly negative, it is best to keep that conversation off the boards!
