Hey everyone! Well, I proposed, she said yes, we've booked our venues, caterer, dj, she found her dress and we've survived the post engagement chaos. Now what? Any advice to get us from now until our wedding this fall? We still need a photographer for both an engagement session as well as the wedding day itself. Any suggestions? We're getting married in Fort Dodge so obviously regiona advice would be appreciated but any general advice would be appreciated too!

Fall wedding? As in this fall?

Get your photographer yesterday. I booked ours 13 months out and had to go with a third choice. That was June though, most popular. I believe Sept/Oct are right behind June though.

Stick to your budget.

oh yeah, congratulations and try to enjoy the process since you have most of the big stuff done at this point :) Don't let others dictate your guest list or how you do things. It's easy for a wedding to become about making everyone else happy.

So, is she a dual fan? Panthers/Cyclones? I hope.

The best picture taken at my wedding was by my mom with a point and shoot. If I could go back, I would buy a crazy camera and have somebody snap some shots. Then I would have a dope camera, as well as a bunch of pictures that never get looked at, but cost me way less and look almost as good as those taken by a pro.

Congratulations! I see a new generation of Hawk haters on the horizon.

All the wedding stuff will work itself out for you. The only advice I can give is when the day comes, take time to enjoy the moment. It goes by really fast

so you are not gay after all?

Congrats! Don't blow too much on the wedding

Lol yeah right. When the ladies have something in their head for the wedding, there's no changing it.

My advice? Unless you have a strong opinion on something, just agree with her. If you're indifferent, you'll save yourself a lot of headaches that way.

Also, be prepared for something to go wrong the day of, because it will. Just roll with it.

I did. Getting married in April. Wish me luck, although she's about 85% converted. Freddy leaving didn't help the process.

Same here... Getting married in April. I got her cheering for Cyclone Basketball and football as long as they aren't playing the hoks. She's also a Bears fan and I'm a Packers fan so it'll keep things interesting

1000x this. Once the day arrives nothing more can be done so just enjoy it. Enjoy each other and remember the reason you are there in the first place. Don't let anyone or anything get in the way of taking in one of the best days you'll ever have.
