Curtis Jones Not Even Honorable Mention

**** you big 12. Your awards are ********. Nothing left to to but curb stomp everyone at the tournament.
These are voted on by coaches, not the Big12 or AP or anything. But I agree it's ridiculous. Maybe just snubbing a non starter

Really should have been 6th man aswell, the guy from BYU is 3rd on the team for minutes and takes the most shots

Did we get numbers of votes for the players? Or COTY?

That's a ridiculous snub.

Points aren't everything of course but Curtis matched or exceeded the PPG in Big 12 games of 13 players on the honorable mention list:

Tylor Perry (KSU) 15.4
Darius Johnson (UCF) 15.1
Javon Small (OSU) 14.8
Arthur Kaluma (KSU) 14.5
Jaylin Sellers (UCF) 14.2
Daniel Skillings (CIN) 12.8
Jaxson Robinson (BYU) 12.5
Javian McCollum (OU) 12.3
KJ Adams (KU) 12.1
Jalon Moore (OU) 11.9
Langston Love (BU) 11.5
Curtis Jones (ISU) 11.4
Johnny Furphy (KU) 11.4
Jameer Nelson (TCU) 11.4
Emanuel Sharp (HOU) 11.2
Yves Missi (BU) 11.1
Fousseyni Traore (BYU) 10.9
Micah Peavy (TCU) 10.9
Joe Toussaint (TTU) 10.8
Spencer Johnson (BYU) 10.2
Dajuan Harris (KU) 9.4
Dallin Hall (BYU) 9.1
Aziz Bandaogo (CIN) 6.5
Ibrahima Diallo (UCF) 6.1
Ja'Vier Francis (HOU) 5.8
Traore? The fat guy from BYU got honorable mention??? He''s like the 8th best player on their team.

Bandaogo? Toussaint? Good grief.

I can't believe the coaches vote on this. They must delegate it to someone that doesn't help with the scouting report - it reads more like "these are the names I have heard of" list.

TJ definitely deserves it if you’re voting on results/expectations but hard to argue with Sampson. To win this league with 3 losses is incredible. Also Shead very deserving.

I could make the case for TJ or Sampson so have no issues with that. Two ku players is a little off puting.

Post it on the motha ****** bulletin board. Put this show into top gear and ******* go!

Pretty sure Houston was picked near the top so give Sampson CoY because he did what was expected of them, ok.

Can't remember where we were picked but it was probably nowhere near 2nd.
Sorry if this was already posted, as I haven’t read further.

I am ok with Sampson winning it. Everyone, including most here were saying Houston would still be good, but their days of just blasting through a conference were in for a reality check in the Big 12. Well, turns out we were all wrong. I was very wrong as I thought they would have at least 5 conference losses if everything went right.

They crushed this league this year.

I'm not bashing on Sampson I just thought what TJ did was much more impressive.

Never said you were bashing on Sampson, as I am almost exclusively in the line of what you are thinking. I just think this is one of those times where a team expected to win a conference title actually somehow exceeded those lofty expectations. TJ absolutely could have won it and would have deserved it. This is just one of those years I am totally fine with a coach winning that maybe was expected to win the conference title.

We got three guys in there. Curt deserves it but he's not a starter so I'm not surprised he didn't get the love.

Honestly he seems like a borderline power conference player, not HM in the nation's top conference. All of their 3pt shooters are more valuable pieces. He only played 17mpg.

Every first teamer gets a paragraph in the article. Except Lipsey...
