For those who like country music, I'm interested in your choice of radio formats. Do you prefer all new country, mostly new and some favorites, or would you prefer some new and more all time favorites for the past 20-30 years. Just curious.

My preference? None.

You must have missed this part:

In response to the OP, I prefer mostly-new with some favorites thrown in.

Anything that isn't pop country, I love. Bluegrass and Classic Country mostly.

Taylor Swift isn't country IMO. Hot, but not country.

I like new country, Zach Brown Band, Jason Aldean, and Montgomery-Gentry just to name a few.

Some newer. Mostly older. My favorite channel is Real Country 98.9 out of Jefferson. They play more older with new sprinkled in.

Garth, George, Alan, Toby, Brad.... And then the outlaws of country. Some Chris LeDoux. Even Gary Allen and Eric Church. Really anyone besides the tropical cowboy (Kenny Chesney)

I agree with this, though there are definitely singers I like less then Chesney.

If you want actual country music check out Outlaw Country on either Sirius or XM (can't remember which it is). Far better than pretty much anything you get on regular radio. Some artistic vision, rather than mass produced schlock designed to make a **** load of $.

It mixes the classics (Willie, Waylon, DAC, Jerry Jeff Walker, Steve Earle) with some newer artists like Hayes Carll, James McMurtry, Whitey Ford and the 78s, Drive-By Truckers (that's for you 3TrueFans), Son Volt, Todd Snider, etc, that would never get played on regular country radio because their production isn't slick enough and their lyrics aren't as literal/obvious, but it's still definitely country music.

Mostly 90s country. Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, George, Garth, etc.

Hate to burst your bubbles but Zach Brown band shouldn't count as country (or Rascal Flatts).

I prefer **** kicker country. Waylon, Willie, Merle, George Jones, etc.

There is some good newer stuff, but like some have mentioned, the pop sound is way too prevalent in country music these days very few artists offer a traditional country sound.

I like what most people would refer to as classic country, Merle Haggard, Johnny Paycheck, Johnny Cash, etc. Don't really care for a lot of what is being produced today although Alan Jackson, Dale Watson and some others are pretty good. Can't stand Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, etc

Tanya Tucker 24/7.

I like 90's-early 2000's. I also throw in some of the old classics that I grew to like because my grandpa listens to that a lot. I guess I like the Zac Brown Band, Billy Currington, Brad Paisley, and Kenny Chesney. I listen to 92.5 in Des Moines, they tend to mix it up pretty well.

Jamey Johnson, Johny Cash, and Dierks Bentley, especially his bluegrass stuff. Oh, and Rascal Flatts isn't country.

how is zac brown not country?

I listen to either the Hawk or KJJY. I do like that KJJY mixes in some older country. And I'm not really a fan of the pop country.
