convert LB to DE

Exactly. And some seem to be forgetting that we have Rony Nelson available next year with Lattimer, O'Neal, Maggitt, all back.

WHY would we want to convert our LB's, where we are short, into undersized DE's?

Lattimer is a converted linebacker who is undersized.

I assume you mean Neal. If he is still getting time next year I will be very disappointed in Maggitt. Neal should not be playing in the big 12.

i think he should be, and so do our coaches. starting? maybe not, but i think he has earned reps.

Seriously, Maggitt was more impressive with minimal snaps, Latimore got more publicity but I was impressed with Rosie's play too, especially for SO, I see him having a way bigger year in rotation with Nelson next year.....

He's worked hard enough to earn his PT as a role player and get some reps. He should not be starting unless there are injuries unless he shows vast improvement. I just don't think he is that kind of athlete. Hopefully we are recruiting well enough that he wont be forced into that role again.

Lattimer is 6' 2" and weighs 245. Our LB's other than Knott and Klein are not that big and maybe weigh 220 lbs. max. Which one of these giants do we convert to DE?

55 Gall, Nolan LB 6-3 220 Fr. Dubuque, Iowa (Wahlert)
7 George, Jeremiah LB 5-11 215 Fr. Clearwater, Fla. (Clearwater)

59 Kaufman, Preston LB 5-11 231 RSr. Lincoln, Neb. (Nebraska-Omaha) (Southwest)

I agree completely. Maggitt was just as good, if not better than Latt. He was probably my favorite player to watch at the end of the year. He just never had a breakout game like Latt. If he can continue to improve he could become a force.

I should have put Lattimore, Rony, and Maggitt in the sentence.

Did this guy start off at TE? I remember seeing a picture of a TE that didn't have a scholarship, and he looked like a pretty impressive athlete. I'm pretty sure his name was Stonerook.

I think the Coaches have an idea of what they're doing. They are recruiting the guys that they want at the position they want it. If a player is working at a position and they seem them working at a different position they will move them. I think people just need to just the judgement of CPR and his staff because I think they have it under control.

Haha I can't say I know anything about the kid, but judging by that picture, he looks like a mega d-bag :twitcy:
That mega d-bag you're talking about is Steele Jantz the Juco QB who just committed. He actually looks like a pretty good prospect who can also play safety. If you haven't seen the video on the thread about him you should check it out. I think if anything he can at least provide a good competition at the QB position.
