I'm cherry-picking with the bolded parts, of course ... but those are good traits. Up-tempo or not.

And SFA was first in D1 in assists per game last season and 5th in FG% last season.
Agreed...very good traits. I wasn't complaining about SFA's style. Just pointing out that it is probably a slightly slower but more efficient style than Hoiball.

With interviews pending, is there any chance John Walters or CW could get permission to record the coach interviews and then depending on who is the successful candidate, there is a replay of the new coach's interview on either Cyclones TV or CF?

This is absolutely no chance anything remotely like this happens.

Over those other guys? Seriously. The guy is a proven winner and was National Coach of the Year in 2013. Who would you want instead?

Somebody who didn't botch an rape by one of his players worse than Steve Alford.

Little known fact: CF mods get to sit in on the interviews and then vote on who we want to coach.

You want people to play your job interviews publicly?? I just, I can't....

So by randomly coming back to a stacked team next year that will "prove" that he's fit to be a HC? This whole "TJ has never won here or been on a winning staff so he's not a very good coach is probably one the Top 5 most ****** up narratives that continues on this site.

That's just as bad as people acting like he deserves no blame for those teams. It's just odd that he recruited such amazing players but it never translated to wins. I think it just proves he's a competent recruiter, who can get the same caliber guys we are used at ISU, guys that a competent HC can win with (perhaps even himself) While that's all we need him to do, that doesn't make him this can't miss, recruiting genius. We will still continue to build our team with high 3*/low 4* recruits.

You are right, his history of being on mediocre programs gets blown out of proportion bc honestly, he doesn't have much to talk about as far as his coaching experience. That works the same way with his recruiting, we don't have a ton of positive things to say about either so he gets a little too much credit as a recruiter.

Where's your link that we can't pay anyone? This is an excuse that some people who are downers seem to keep putting out there. Hoiberg was making $2.6mil, which is pretty darn high. There's no reason we can't pay a coach close to that amount of cash. Fred didn't make this job look a million times better than it is: he was the right guy that did everything and tackled this job correctly. I know everyone thinks our program stinks, but if a guy comes in and works all the right angles, hires the right assistants, and puts everything they can into this job (I never feel like McDoormat did), we can win and win a lot of games in the future. Gameday, Hilton Coliseum, one of the loudest and proudest fanbases, and a top ten team. You really think nobody decent wants to take this job? I know you're used to the nutcup mentality, but this isn't like taking over the TCU basketball program.

Jeremy has made it clear that we can pay. It's just a matter of whether we will.
With Leath involved, I think we will.
