Coaching Prospects

All I'm saying is give this season a chance to play out. If he goes 4-8 or worse, I'm with you

I haven't quit on the season or the players. I respect what these players are putting in. I have however quit on this coaching regime. If they prove me wrong, I will happily eat some crow but I still believe after last season the Rhoads train should have left the station.

The CPR hiring was bad timing as far as the landscape of college football, we hired a defensive minded HC right when the game was trending towards high scoring offenses. It is a big reason we have never had any consistent success on offense. Heck Florida and Texas made the same mistakes as well. If/when we hire a new coach, we had better go offense. It suits our program much more, we don't recruit elite talent but we generally get more talent at the skill positions on offense than we do in the trenches. We need a coach who can take advantage of that.

The former or current NDSU coaches, whose names I don't know. Slow the game down and keep the other offense on the sideline, just like Bill Snyder has been doing with the same level of talent we can get.

Not sure why some people are so critical of JP's coaching hires.

Because results matter, and JP's job is hiring coaches who have success not making splash hires.

I firmly believe that if he had stayed he would have had more wins than CPR has currently.

More Wins..........That wouldn't take much since coach roads is 18 losses under 500...........Pathetic Rhoads .....

Some would say but I wont ........Beyond Pathetic...............

If CPR was forced out at the end of the season, who would be some realistic prospects that would be attainable for us to get?Would you rather go the Coordinator route or a mid major head coach? I feel like guys like PJ Fleck are a pipe dream. Would love for Paul to be here, but if it's going to happen who are some other candidates?

PJ Fleck would take the ISU job.

That's a great idea, lets go back to the Wishbone...It sure worked for Jimmie Dean Walden...lol

Walden swiched when everyone else was running option. It would be effective now that hardly anyone else is doing it (see Georgia Tech). Also, Walden's offense wasn't the problem at the time. Offense is clearly a problem now (along with defense and special teams).

No. Craig Bohl was 4-8 last year and 0-2 this year at Wyoming. He is not the answer. Neither is Kleiman or Farley or any other FCS coach. Mark Mangino is not the answer either. We need to let the season play out. We lost a very tough game that we could have won if our offense had come out for the second half. Have to place the blame squarely on the offense. The entire offense. Offense coordinator on down. Defense played their hearts out and were down DT Demond Tucker when he went out with injury in the 2nd quarter. We had a shot to win the game repeatedly in the second half and peed down our leg offensively that whole second half. 31 plays in the second half and we gained a total of 66 yards. Pathetic. The Offense is making me long for the days of Courtney Messingham as our OC.

What is this his second year up there? You still think CPR is the right guy for this job after 3-9 and 2-10 in years 5 and 6.
