*** @ Cincinnati Pregame Thread ***

The only thing that concerns me is injuries. Kicking game is probably going to rear its head soon and do we even have any dbacks left?

Because of this I think cincy moves the ball all over us.
We’ve only lost Coop. Cummings-Coleman may or may not be out.

Other than that, a couple of freshmen corners are dinged up.

Considering we go about three deep at the safety spots, and still can go two at corner, yes, we still have DB’s left.

Regarding the lines, remember that Vegas doesn't care about predicting the game result. They care about balancing the betting.
Which are basically one and the same. To balance the betting, the line has to make sense. Lines are set using logic in order to balance the betting.

I guess the general public thinks we are a joke, seeing it all over social media. And now we are road dogs against an unranked Cincinnati, apparently they are gearing for a rowdy crowd this weekend.

Wish I was going to the game! I love the stadium, and I like the Bearcats (when they are not playing Iowa State or Alabama).

My Cincinnati Bearcats Football bona fides:

I have seen the Bearcats 40 times with a 26-14 record. I've seen them play as a C-USA, Big East and AAC team, but I haven't seen them in football yet as a Big XII team. Missed the game last year @ JTS.

BTW, stop by Mio's on Short Vine before or after the game. Nice gameday bar and really good Italian food. If you like Pizza and Beer, you can thank me later. It's walking distance from Nippert.

BTW, they sell beer, wine and spirits @ Nippert.

Let's Go State!

True.

So why does sports media basically focus exclusively on it?

Personally, I think making betting legal destroyed sports commentary.
Because it's a measure of the betting publics handicap of the game. It's not hard to understand and put in the proper context. Besides that they have been talking lines since the inception of sports talk. Its really what started sports talk.

So, let’s say I’m inclined to put some money on the Cyclones. Should I take the gift of the current line or do we think it’s going to keep moving?

Honestly I would take it right now.

IMO once the injury reports come out and Cincy announces Corleone is out, and sharps see that Orange is playing, big movement probably in favor of the cyclones. Cyclones as an underdog could be free money

The assumption also is that teams play better at home than on the road. We sucked in our only road game and Cincinnati has played pretty well on the road in two pretty hostile environments.
We've won like 10 in a row on the road, I think we probably play fine on the road. (Maybe not totally accurate, but close.) Cinci lost to KNu, that proves to me they aren't that good.

Thinking about going to the Alumni Association Event Saturday morning.

Let's get bowl eligible this week everyone!

Remember when that was a thing we had to scheme out every season?
So true. Between that and looking out at consistently sold out stands, Kids today looking out from the hills genuinely don’t comprehend how good they have it.
