***Cincinnati Game Week Discussion Thread***

WVU fired its defensive coordinator and had a new 1 for cinn. The players responded. WVU's dline was dominant. Nose got an insane 13 tackles. Their qb, who can run and is big and hard to tackle, wilts under pressure.

If he has time to throw--he will hurt you. Cinn has a good back, Kiner, who is like 3rd in the country in making people miss tackles.

This isnt the team to rush 3 and hope the qb cant find an open man. Cinn does have a very good te and able wrs. They dont get much pressure when they are on d, so rocco will have time to throw. they cover not so good.

Last I saw Vegas has us as a 9 point favorite. While I realize we lost as a bigger favorite to Tech, the odds makers aren't overreacting to our recent slump.

The closer it gets, the more nervous I get. A few weeks ago, I wasn't going to look past Cincy but now... its not even the injuries. I just didn't like some of the body language type stuff against Kansas.

Now, they kept fighting and never gave up, so that's a positive.

But being hanging on by a razor's edge to make the conference title game or even just have a chance to finally win 10 games where we'd have to bare minimum go 2-1 ... IDK.

This team and play calling to a degree have seemed tight lately. And that's not surprising to some degree. When you're a good program but not one used to being a true contender... its an adjustment to being the hunted instead of hunter. Like, Indiana's different with Cignetti, staff and all the JMU kids and even Rourke from Ohio, they're used to regularly competing for league titles and in JMU's case not that long ago FCS titles (albeit not power 5 level but still)

And I think we're seeing a little bit of that. Where maybe the moment, coupled with all the injuries, was something we weren't quite prepared for. Which if true, isn't uncommon. Its why so many teams in all sports can go from being bad to being a play off team or upper half of the league team (ie Ole Miss under Kiffin, etc. ) or Georgia under Richt, etc... but never quite take that final step because its that final step that's almost the hardest

I was feeling better about this until i read the blurb about the coaching staff situation.
we have had the worse time with coaches that have been able to scheme against us and sounds like Cincy has a lot of experience of knowing our system. So I expect them to try and expose our defense which isn't actually that hard to do recently.
dog fight again is my thought. ISU by 4.

That works both ways. Our staff knows Veidt's tendencies as well.

Didn’t help Cincinnati against us last year.

If we lose to a Scott Satterfield team then this team will have hit rock bottom. It doesn’t get much worse than that

This is a check your manhood game. Both coaches and players. Lose this and just go bye bye.

Yeah, lose this one and it's MBB season. Honestly, they have not been the same since the UCF game. I feel like 7-6 is a real possibility. And that would be an epic collapse.
