Those games don't mean anything. You try coming off emotional wins against teams like Iowa then turn around and play some scrub program during finals week.

Plenty of good ISU teams have struggled with teams that bad.
Might have been the Royce or Kane-Ejim team that barley beat Mississippi Valley State then turned around 2 weeks later and ran Kansas out of the building.

In the context of that season ISU had already lost at Drake and to UNI in Hilton.

You're a complete idiot if you think we played a weak non-conference schedule, especially in comparison to alot of other Big 12 teams.
In fact, ISU is showing up still in mock brackets as a 10 seed even after yesterday. You think we are still a tournament team because of our stellar 3-9 conference record?

Exactly. We have 7 Quad 1 wins. 4th best in college basketball. This team isn’t a bunch of **** players, they have demonstrated they can beat quality teams.

People just want to say this team wasn't very good to begin with because it helps them comprehend this current meltdown. The facts don't back that theory up though. This is a good team, it's just broken for whatever reasons.

MVSU made the NCAA tournament in 2012.
Lol, congratulations on winning the MEAC or whatever conference they were in I guess. Somebody has to win those conferences with all sub-300 teams. It doesn't change the fact that ISU played really poorly against them, but then could turn around and make the 2nd round that year.

Like I said, those games don't mean ****. I went to the Chicago State game this year and nobody was even paying attention most of the game.

Wow, nice memory. I just looked it up, 67-65 over Mississippi Valley State Royce's year. Then we smoked #5 Kansas and ended up one of the best 32 teams in the country.

MVSU was the "Hoiberg table-slap at postgame press conference" game.

(I can't find video, here's recap from Trib)

I‘m trying to determine how the 2012 team, with at least 3 guys who could consistently make a 3 (Scotty C, Tyrus, Chris Allen), is comparable to this year’s ISU team that doesn’t have one consistent 3 point shooter. Chris Babb I’d trust to make a 3 over anyone on this team.

Winning neutral games against Xavier and Memphis + winning at Creighton + beating Tech and Texas + hanging with Baylor + nearly winning at KU are not “lucky breaks”.

We played well for 30 mins yesterday. We were aggressive, took care of the ball, and defending well. And then we completely went away from what worked for the last 10 mins and pissed away a 15 point lead at home against the worst team (besides us) in the league. I don’t know if it’s mostly coaching or execution but yesterday was a big failure in a huge spot for this team.

We had a lot of luck against those teams in addition to playing well. It was a combination of both.

TJ has done a remarkable job considering the dumpster fire left to him. I fully expected we would definitely take a step back. Especially the way the Big 12 wears teams down.

FFS can this thread just got away. CW was very clear that he would let others in CF do the coverage for MBB due to his relationship with TJ.

Also, TJ has coached a total of 25 games at ISU. No, I am not happy with the last few games, but stopping being so premature and give the guy some time to work and develop at ISU.

Come on! My post was funny! I’m a believer! Tom ******* Izzo! That’s our future. 30 years and multiple final 4’s!

Porter moser beat us. But I agree he sucks.
Porter is certainly not as likeable as TJ

I will say I don't think the backlash of this slide would have been as bad if people like Williams and Pollard wouldn't have been beating their chest about the TJ hire in December. Neither of them did TJ any favors by doing that
Any chance JP will be sending one of his messages to Cyclone supporters soon?
