I don’t do Twitter, but it was posted in the thread.

Apparently the Chris Williams, while drunk at a concert, and tweeted he believed TJ is going to be Iowa State’s Tom Izzo.

At least I hope he meant Izzo. Because I have no idea who Tom Izzy is, and if he can even coach a lick

Hopefully he doesn’t drunk tweet that CMC is going to be our JoePa:oops:

Yep because comparing two first year head coaches who moved from mid-majors to the Big 12 is a terrible comp.
Boy I'm sure glad they haven't had a head-to-head matchup yet where one team ends up winning going away and finding flaws that then get exploited by basically everyone else the rest of the way, and that that team then doesn't really have anything prepared to go to when those flaws are exploited.

I don't give a **** about whether or not Moser is any good, but he absolutely was better than TJ the time the two teams have played. I hope that doesn't become a trend.

I guess we will see how Round 2 goes next Saturday.

We won’t ever get along. And if T.J. has taken a Top 20 program and ran it into the ground I would have eviscerated him as well. I guess I don’t see three-four guys on this roster that will be playing in the NBA unlike that #6 seed squad.
But I would have taken that #6 seed squad over the **** we saw the following two years.

Dude stop. It's not like people don't remember your reaction to previous hires on here.

Im confused. So you just want to hear the question
Chris used his platform in December to call all the TJ doubters when he was hired crazy and preach that TJ is an amazing coach. Now that we are losing, it’s the lack of player talent or hustle, nothing about the coaching. He will not question his friends coaching ability. If he truly is a journalist, he can’t have it both ways

If Nebraska can find the money Fred will be available. And no AD at a power conference school in their right mind would hire Fred. He’s done. He found a way to get it done on his way up the NBA mountain. He’s done. Every power conference team should fall ass backwards into 9-10 wins.
Fred would make an excellent offensive coordinator!

He is not a journalist when it comes to ISU Basketball. He simply provides opinions and commentary on podcasts. If you don't understand the difference, then I don't know what to tell you.

However, simple thing is if you don't like it, then stop using it.

Then he shouldn’t have media credentials to the basketball games…

Look at my history. I have been here for well over a decade. Of all the football/basketball coaches I have only been vocal about a single one. That coach took over a Top 20 program and went 97-95 over a 6 year period. It is a previous hire…not plural.

How do any of you think Chris is any kind of insider? Would you reveal info to a guy that drunk tweets, drunk pods, etc? I can’t think of a time he had any insight into anything. Lol

At this moment in time, this is an unfair criticism. We were picked last in the Big 12, and CW and Brent both said things along the lines of how a season like Fred's first year - a losing team that competes hard, is close in most of its games, and improves as the season goes on - would be a fine start. The complexion of this season has been much different than anyone would have predicted, but it's too early to start passing judgments one way or another.

It never turns out well when you have the 10th best coach in a 10 team conference. TJ has a ton to prove still. Not winning a game after Jan 29 will be pretty concerning. I probably would have felt better if we would have ended 12-20 and actually improved as the year went on. TJ has been completely out coached in every game the past few weeks.
It's so hard to agree with this, but I think you are right. The hot start got everyone out of sorts. Went to the heads of a lot of the fans and evidently players and coaches as well. Everything is happening in reverse order right now and it's hard to know what to take away or how to feel.

How about everyone just calm the **** down. This team was never going to win a conference championship or make a sweet 16 run. Hell, you would have been laughed out of the room if you suggested this team would make the tournament with this collection of talent before the season began. Nothing has changed. We are who they thought we were. The team was able to surprise some teams with their defensive pressure and max effort in the non-con. Kudos to the staff and players for accomplishing that.

Now we are in a conference with teams that do what we do at a much higher level with better talent. We can't hide our talent deficiencies any more. Sucks, but it is what it is. You can't coach a Volkswagen to win the Daytona 500. I'm not saying it's guaranteed TJ will be a top notch Big XII coach. He may fail with better talent. But judging him too harshly when this team has blown by all pre-season expectations already is dumb.

Why is there this assumption that the knowledge about the talent level of the team was more correct with less data? There's no way assumptions about the talent level from October hold more water than those from December or even mid-January. The team was overrated in the top ten, absolutely, but I don't think you're being honest if you claim they were a complete fluke and not good at all when they were taking Baylor and Kansas to the wire and beating Texas going away. There's been a collapse, plain and simple.
