In the 80’s you bought a glass pitcher/mug for about every bar. I know I had/have a Granddaddy’s one

I checked ID’s at a bar called the Peanut Tree in Ames in the summer of 1972 (?). Chris was the bouncer. Needless to say we had little trouble. One night a guy was beating on the pinball machine. Chris tapped him in the shoulder. The guy spun around like he was looking for trouble. Chris picked him up under the arm pits and held him off the floor and told him to stop it. No more problems.
Chris was a good guy. Drank beer from a pitcher - it looked like a glass in his hand.
May not be the type of stories you are looking for.

Can confirm the pitcher looking small in his hand from seeing same at The Cave Inn.

A buddy of mine remembers seeing U2 there spring of '81 before they were really well known. He was always floored that the place was practically empty for their show.

Weren’t dime draws on Monday & Mug night on Thursday nights?
I may be wrong but thought MQ 40 oz mugs was Wednesday nights and G and Ts were Thursday nights. Dime draws were Monday nights at the Cave.

I love reading these old bar stories, I was born in 82 so I missed all the old places. And I was around in 2001 and I can not remember Hunky Dory's. Where was it?

In the mid 80’s Thumbs Up had $0.75 G&T’s on Thursday nights. It’s where I acquired my taste for pine needles. Actually a G&T sounds pretty good right now.

So what was the popular pizza to get delivered? About 10, a bunch of us always took a study break on ordered pizzas. Don’t remember the name
