What are everyone's predictions for the final 4? Should be interesting to see what the committee does as there are several different scenarios that could play out.

I think it will be, Bama, Clemson, OSU, PSU

What it should be, Bama, Clemson, Washington, PSU.

There is no way that Washington gets dropped for PSU. They throttled #8 CU where PSU had a great comeback to beat #6 Wisconsin. If this happens I think there will be a mixup in how the teams are selected or the committee is made up because that would not go over well.

I think it will be:
1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Ohio State
4. Washington

And the committee will be hoping for a sweet Alabama-Ohio State championship game that will have crazy ratings.

But I think it should be:
1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Washington
4. Penn State

Conference championships matter - that's what they told us in 2014, anyway. If one of these teams was a 9-4 champ, that would be a different story. But 11-2 or 12-1 teams should be in over an 11-1 team that didn't win its own division.

Well, if we want to discuss how it should be it would be Michigan because tOSU was stopped short on the 4th down in OT.

ESPN is shamelessly pushing for Penn State to get in to the CFP.......and still keep tOSU.

IMO, it will be Bama, tOSU, Clemson and Washington.

Everyone else has TWO Losses. TWO Losses. Penn State lost to Pitt. And was creamed by 39 points by Michigan.

Washington has ONE Loss. To #10 USC. And they just destroyed #9 Colorado in the Pac 12 title game. Meanwhile Penn State had to rally in the 2nd half to eke out a close win over a similar Wisconsin team.

CFP Committee has it pretty easy. Take the teams with the LEAST losses. But they could screw it up and try to get 2 Big Ten teams in. If they do, then just scrap the whole farce and let the SEC and Big Ten play each year for the title.

Penn State shouldn't be in

1Bama
2Clemson
3 OSU
4 Washington

Bama would easily beat Penn state by 40+

OSU could have two losses if they had the 13th data point. It matters. OSU should be out in favor of Pedo State.

Bama is going to house Washington or Penn State either way. We don't pick teams based on whether or not they can hang with Bama, that's not a criterion.

Clemson has to love that they are never brought up in these discussions. Seriously. They haven't beaten a single team with less than 3 losses, with 3 loss Florida State (Clemson, Louisville, North Carolina) or 3 loss Louisville (Clemson, Houston, Kentucky) seemingly their best win(s). Other "good wins" on their resume?

- Auburn (lost to Clemson, Texas A&M, Georgia, Alabama)
- Virginia Tech (lost to Clemson, Tennessee, Syracuse, Georgia Tech)

Pittsburgh has played an interesting role in all of this too. Beat both Clemson and Penn State.

Rematch of Bama vs. Clemson for the NC. BUT I wouldn't be shocked if Washington beat Bama.

I would be, the best team Washington played easily handled them at Washington. And Alabama is quite a bit better than USC.

Penn State needs to stay home. They lost to Pitt when Ohio state was winning on the road at Oklahoma.

Alabama vs Washington
Ohio St vs Clemson

Seems pretty clear to me.

Washington getting in could hurt the quality non-conference games that we've been getting. They played no one in the non-con - Rutgers, Idaho, and Portland State. Compare them to Oklahoma, who has two losses, both against good non-con opponents (Houston and Ohio State).

If Oklahoma had played Washington's schedule, who would be in the playoff? This might show some teams that a viable path to the playoff is to play no one as long as you go 12-1 with a conference title.

I think the committee, whether they will admit this or not, understands politics. In CFB politics, you cannot omit a one loss Pac 12 champ in favor of a second B1G team. And going out on a limb, I think they will uphold their principle that conference championships matter, and select the B1G team that won the conference championship. In spite of their 2 losses, PSU played their best football toward the end of the season. Maybe that is not a crieria, but it is reasoning that would sell the decision. That, and they beat tOSU head to head.

Yep, that's why I've been saying I would be fine with Penn St getting in over Washington. Taking a long view of this, I think it's good for the game to reward teams for playing quality out of conference games. Like you said, if I'm Oklahoma and I'm looking ahead to next year, why in the world am I playing at Ohio St? I'm buying out of that game, playing UTSA, an FCS team and UTEP and focusing just on my conference schedule since that's all that matters for the playoffs. NCAA football needs to get away from the avoiding losses mindset and have quality wins be the main criteria for playoff selection.
