CF vs. HawkNation Alexa Rank

CF's Alexa Rank is 33,259 in the US, compared to Hawkeyenation's rank of 107,956.

As I understand it, these ranks are a good indicator of a site's popularity; is that right? I admittedly know next to nothing about gauging or monitoring internet traffic, so I'd love to hear peoples' thoughts on this.

One thing I found particularly funny was this description of the typical Hawkeyenation visitor: "Compared with the overall internet population...they are disproportionately women between the ages of 25 and 35 who have postgraduate educations and browse from work."

I don't think it's any secret that there are far more posters on Cyfan than on HN.

It has direct correlation to internet availability, and ability to read and type. Obviously there is going to be far less Hawk fans that can do this.

Hawkeyenation would do themselves a service with a forum makeover. CF is more user friendly, looks better, and is more readable. Who ever thought yellow text on a white background was a good idea?

I highly doubt that. People that spend all day screwing around on the interent generally are the people that dont have someone watching over them all day. Thus they are higher up in the company than someone that is watched all day. That is why we have so many posters here that post all day everyday while at work.

You guys would get in trouble if you had your ipads out while working at kum and go.

CF is way more popular than HN because Iowa actually has a Rivals site that's worth $10/month.

If you compare the Iowa Rivals and Scout sites to ISU's, it's probably 30 to 1.
