CES 2015 - Sling TV

Has anyone else tried the iPad app? It looks like I'm all signed up (can edit my personal info), but I can't login to the app. I haven't had a chance to try my PC or Roku3 yet.

I used the iPad and Android apps today - the only thing that didn't work for me was AirPlay mirroring. Do you have another device to try?

I have a PC and Roku at the crib I can try when I get off work. I don't even see an android app in the Play Store. I must be a dumb mother trucker.

Has anyone had success with Sling mirroring from their ipad up to the appletv via airplay? We have solely Apple products and would like to view Sling on my TV without having to get a Roku.

I don't think the Android app is in the Play Store. I downloaded it from the SlingTV site. You have to change your phone settings to allow apps from non-google sources, if you haven't already done that.

Is there a limit to the number of devices that can be used on an account? Like how Netflix restricts it to two active devices per account.

Yes, it might be one, actually. I know there is a limit.

At one time, yes. You can use it on any # of devices I'm pretty sure though. Just not more than one at once.

Personally that is a killer for me. Gotta be at least two.
Since you do get a WatchESPN login with the Sling TV subscription, it would seem that you'd be able to log into WatchESPN & then also have Sling TV going on another device. So if one person wants to watch sports & another HGTV, I think that might work.

*edit: They very well could have somehow blocked this loophole, but it's worth looking into.

^ Just tried it... doesn't work. Only one stream going at a time, including WatchESPN.

Sling TV has gone public for those interested. You get 7 days free to try it out.

They also announced that AMC is coming to the default $20 channel lineup soon as well.

Just curious how everyone's experience was last night watching the OU game.

We got our invite last weekend, and watched a number of shows without trouble (PC driving HD TV). However, the game feed was choppy last night, and there were a couple of freeze-ups with a duration of about 30 seconds. Picture quality was very good though. My internet speed seemed fine with SpeedTest, and we had no choppiness problems with Amazon Prime.

It was mostly fine for me. I had a couple times where it jumped & "rewound" about 10 seconds, but otherwise pretty good. What's most annoying is the delay of about a minute from real time.
