FLYING BURRITO FOREVER!!!!!!Is there still a gaping hole on Lincoln Way next to Mr. Burrito?
I sort of hate the new Campustown vibe (not that I’m ever there), but a lot of those oldThat building boom Campustown had in the 2010s was fun. The good old days.
Agreed. The old campustown had charm. The new one looks as cookie cutter as anything else.
The only place we go when I'm back is Welch Ave... and perhaps Jeffs because it opened when I was in school and Gumby's is long gone.man, welch was just grimey 2010-2013.... there was still piss residue from 1986 in most bathrooms. i loved it. haven't been back since.

Oh, you young ‘uns. We ordered from Pizza Pit last century.I think it closed in 2008? I dont think we could get pokey stix in the dorms 2nd semester.
I was gonna say 2007ish only because I know I didn’t order it in 2008. But my minds a little hazy on those weekends.I think it closed in 2008? I dont think we could get pokey stix in the dorms 2nd semester.
Pizza Pit and The Library (WAS) are about all I recognize from my early ‘80’s college experience in Campustown. Grubsteak to Cafe Beaudelaire also isn’t a huge leap.Oh, you young ‘uns. We ordered from Pizza Pit last century.

RIP Minsky’s, IHOP, and Baskin Robbins. The quarter “wine coolers” (probably crushed ice and Mad Dog) from the Cave Inn were not worth the quarter though.
That reminded me, I went in there with a friend of mine that had cerebral palsy once. As soon as he walked in the door the bartender said "Nope. Get out! You're way past your limit." My friend said "I have cerebral palsy you *******." The horrified look on that bartenders face is burned into my memory. My buddy was fine with it since they let him drink for free all night.I once got kicked out of WAS for "looking too drunk". I had literally left work at 30 mins earlier, did a quick change and arrived to meet some friends. I had not yet ordered a drink. My normal sober face just looked to too drunk to them
If it's the same as The Chicken Coop in West Des Moines that would be a good add.A chicken restaurant called “The Coop” is going in next to Freddy’s it looks like.
There is a “Fox” on the poster for it so not sure it’s the same branding. Probably not “The Chicken Coop”, but who knows. If it's the same as The Chicken Coop in West Des Moines that would be a good add.
The pitchers of boysenberry kamikazes were the bomb at Cave Inn.Pizza Pit and The Library (WAS) are about all I recognize from my early ‘80’s college experience in Campustown. Grubsteak to Cafe Beaudelaire also isn’t a huge leap.
