Just because you say that doesn't make it true. Those coaches are idiots if that's what they truly said.

It's football. It doesn't matter how much S&C you do when a 330 pound OL rolls over your arm or knee.
True, but I dont think all of these injuries are because of getting landed on like that. Could be wrong though.

You do realize that S&C approaches can impact injuries vs strength vs flexibility, right? Ben Bruns brought this up directly. Why is it taboo to discuss?
That’s easy to answer.

Because they aren’t discussing it, considering situations, actual data or context. They’re just jumping straight to “IT HAS TO BE S&C!”, with no rational basis whatsoever.

I don’t suppose other teams have three kickers on their list. Or six walkons, counting Konrardy.

I will say, it’s really nice to see Deylin Hasert upgraded. Even if it’s only to Doubtful.
You dont seem to list the ones that have been taken off the list because of season ending injuries. Like our Dbacks.

You can say what you want but we have a lot more injuries than other teams, and have now for 2 years in a row. At some point its a pattern.

So coach Mac is an idiot, got it.

Torn ACL's (Coop & Tez) aren't because of poor strength and conditioning. Tez had his leg rolled into by CB on a tackle vs 'Zona. S&C had absolutely nothing to do with it. CH had a concussion, which is not S&C related. Big Citrus rolled an ankle on an awkward tackle vs CU. Certainly wasn't S&C related. Konrardy can drill 63 yd FG's and hit regularly from 50+. I'd say he has plenty of leg strength.

I'd also note that we've been better in games we've won in the 2nd half and 4th quarter. We dominated KState on the LOS late in the game as well as vs Iowa and 'Zona too.

We've had 2 years of bad luck with football injuries. And many other teams in college football have as well. Sometimes bad luck is just that. And this constant whining about S&C is getting really annoying and kind of tin foil hattish IMO.

So our injury report now has 19 on it. Which is minus at least 2 more key players in our DBs that are no longer even listed. So that makes at least 21 of the top of my head. Thats close to 1/4 the entire roster. Meanwhile BYU has 6? What the actual F is going on with our injuries that last couple years.

I dont know what is going on, but it is starting to make me wonder. Every coach I have ever met has always said injuries are the direct result of the lack of strength and conditioning. This seems strange knowing what I know about the team and coaches, but it really makes me wonder why we continue to be so decimated by injuries.

I dont know what is going on or what the answer is but something seems to be needing changed. I really hope we can get this straightened out because without these injuries our team would look a lot different.

Sooo what you are saying is you don’t know?

More or less....
I'll say one thing with our defense. We force Safeties to play like Linebackers sometimes (w/ 3 down linemen). We then force a LB to play like a true DE/DT some plays.

Malik Verdon as a safety was constantly hurt while as a Cyclone. Beau Freyler, same deal - he had to play like a linebacker in this scheme, so he was hurt all the time.

You aren’t terribly good at simple logic, are you?
I mean he said coaches that say injuries are related to S&C are idiots.... and Coach Mac reportedly said exactly that, that you can adjust your S&C to aid in injury prevention.... so... in turn the poster is saying Coach Mac is an idiot.

That is about as simple of logic as it comes.

Thank you for proving my point. In spades.

Appreciated!

I kinda think that the 3-3-5 should go. It was designed to stop the air raid and that offense just isn’t prevalent any more. We are getting DBs hurt at a high level and get zero pass rush. Average QBs are carving us up. It’s just not working these days.
