***BYE & Arkansas State weekly discussion thread***

This one?

Because everyone seems to forget all about it. And it was only, what…CMC Year Four?

They're referencing the first '20 game when LA came in and beat ISU handily.

Mulligan as it was a weird year and ISU apparently had covid go through camp which gave them less time for prep (and they looked even worse than most first games) but in a twist, helped them to stave off any other outbreaks for the duration of the season while other teams had issues with it.

LA was also a real solid group which didn't help the cause.

Didn't ISU's special teams contribute mightily in that loss?

I believe we gave up a kick-return for a TD (after our first score) and a punt return for a TD in the 4th quarter. Defense gave up like an 80 yard TD pass too.

Yep. Gave up at least one kick for a TD.

The offense was weirder than normal and La. iirc basically rushed their way down the field to close it out.

The mood here went from 'Hey we get to watch football!' after such a weird year to wanting CMC gone.

Classic.

The Michigan game is undoubtably a higher profile game for them so I would expect them to be a little hungover for Iowa State. I'm glad we had a week off after our big game, unwind and get back to focus town.
I dunno. Given that they scored late, they may have regained a slender thread of confidence. Faux or not.

It’ll be important to quash that right away.

I know this.

I was being contrary.

ISU -21 O/U 51.5 GO CYCLONES!

I assumed that we'd win comfortably... but even I'm a little stunned to see us as 3-TD favorites to a team that played Michigan the way they did last week (and I know Michigan isn't great this year - I've been saying that all along).

What way do you think they played Michigan?

The Kansas, KSU, and Texas games that year have to be some of the worst losses I’ve watched. Man that year was painful
The Baylor game was the one where the refs screwed us over about 4 or 5 times. Including the "targeting" call

Remember when Memphis was horrible against the run? I do. What were Sama's stats that day? Oh, yeah- nothing.

This team better not come out sleepwalking. Sunbelt teams are dangerous if you don't take them seriously.
Good points. There are no givens in FB, especially if you are ISU. I'm hoping we can come out on fire, play to our ability, and be able to win convincingly.

We'll see what happens. Thanks for reminding us of the Memphis game.

Does anyone know if Fast Pass is a thing for our second home game? The gameday email I just received doesn't mention it.
