The main point is, the NFL didn't decide the game wasn't going to be played that night at 10pm, and wasn't announced immediately after the decision was reached. It was announced when all the different chains of command gave the green light that they were ready for the stadium to be cleared.I agree with you. It's a damned if you do, etc. type of situation. I also recognize that while the fundamental idea that life>game is a point most people with a conscience see and accept very quickly, the NFL is a big ship with a lot of momentum to try to redirect quickly when reacting to an unexpectedly massive upset condition. There are SO many people involved in putting on a single NFL game, to your point about the exit staff. Those lines of communication aren't built to move at the speed the questions on Twitter were demanding. There would have been no way to be in front of it enough to satisfy everyone. On top of that, the NFL keeping things in a holding pattern until they were ready to pick a direction did not have any impact on the level of care Damar was receiving. Everything was secondary to that, including getting to a decision point about the rest of the game. Even if it was just notifying of the intent to follow a certain protocol the people giving and receiving those notifications were shocked bystanders like the rest of us trying make sense of what was unfolding.
Glad Hamlin is doing better, and glad he was able to attend the game. However, even more glad that Buffalo lost. The hype machine would have just continued to grow and you would have more calls of people saying the NFL is fixed if they made the SB. Plus another 3 weeks of narrative of Buffalo rallying as a team after the incident would have reached almost nauseating levels.I was torn watching the game....i wanted the Bengals, but I also thought it would have been super cool if the Bills could have won, beat KC, and then you know there would be something cool a the SB with Hamlin (they still may do something)...but on the other hand....my pessimistic side is kind of happy as I also would hate if the NFL did something to capitalize on it.

Well that’s quite the take. I mean, watching your teammate be basically dead on the field and be sent off in an ambulance after 9 minutes of CPR and a defibrillator is a big nothing burger from a storyline perspective.Glad Hamlin is doing better, and glad he was able to attend the game. It's a great story, but one we've seen almost every facet of for the last several weeks. There's really no next level to the story right as there was no way he's stepping on the field to play again this season. He survived, which is great. He got out of the hospital and by all reports will at least recover enough to lead a normal life, which is fantastic. He was able to return and be an inspiration to his team, which is awesome. His charity blew up and raised a ton of money for kids, which is incredible. But the story has plateaued. Retreading every aspect of the story over the next few weeks as the media would have tried to one-up all the last stories would just get ridiculous. Even heartwarming stories can get beaten to death by the media.Well that’s quite the take. I watched sportscenter bring out a birthday cake and do a full segment for Tim Tebow who at the time was playing like low a baseball or some ****.Do the people that get upset about the media beating stories to death know they can just not watch or listen? They be like "omg I was watching ESPN for 8 hours today and they just wouldn't stop talking about Damar Hamlin!".

Playing low a baseball for the lord.I watched sportscenter bring out a birthday cake and do a full segment for Tim Tebow who at the time was playing like low a baseball or some ****.
Lol. So true. Like the people on CF that constantly post in a thread about how stupid the thread is. You can just not go in there, right?Do the people that get upset about the media beating stories to death know they can just not watch or listen? This first sentence alone could be also said for Brock Purdy and we're all loving it right now. It's a great story, but one we've seen almost every facet of for the last several weeks.
