Will CMC go to Cleveland?

Not really. If he goes to Cleveland that's his own fault. Won't matter to me. How do you know he doesn't think it's a **** city? A lot of people from Cleveland would admit that Cleveland is a **** city.

This. I live north of Detroit. Except for downtown, midtown, a few choice neighborhoods, and the suburbs, Detroit is a **** city.

That's a really interesting read and gives a different perspective on Gene. I used to think he'd probably never make it back to Ames like some other coaches have for random recognitions and whatnot, but this may show different.

Hopefully if Campbell does consider leaving, someone shows him this part:

Isn't Earl Bruce on the record somewhere saying he wishes he hadn't left ISU?

Yes a NFL head coaching job is more prestigious, however, some coaches like to control all aspects of the team. In college, you control the recruiting (AKA, Player personnel) In the NFL, the GM and the scouting department give you all the players. Coach can give input but most don't make the decisions (Other than Pete Carroll, Jon Gruden)

Nick Saban loves to control all aspects of the program and college is the only way to do that.

Yet he even tried his hand in the nfl.

I went thru the roster on 247 Sports and looked at the 18 Seniors and Kempt and Tongamoa are the only Campbell recruits (not sure about Payne). Rhoades did not leave the cupboard bare but Campbell took them to the next level which I doubt Rhoades would have done. Per that site, the roster is loaded with 3 star recruits and only one 4 star which is Scates, who is probably in hot water. I think Campbell stays for a minimum of 5 years at which time he will have a full roster of his recruits and I think that roster will be competing with the top tier of the B12. If ISU is competing at the top level of the B12 in year 5 & 6, that is when Campbell will be facing a decision whether to establish a program on the level of what Snyder did at KSt., which I think Campbell appreciates, or to take the money and PRESSURE and moving on to a Blue Blood like Ohio State or the NFL.

If we absolutely have to hire a head coach agains soon, then we should look at Eric Bieniemy.

Who is that?

I like the suggestion above of the Wells guy at Utah state. He was a rhoads assistant, I think. Of course, he’ll likely have a new job before ours is open.

I cant believe people are listing replacements..lol.

I don’t think CMC is leaving anytime soon.
