Never say never I guess, but I'm not worried. Even if Campbell was interested (personally, I don't think he is) it's the same problem as it was when people were freaking out about tOSU a couple months ago - beyond Ames and central Iowa, he's just a coach with a .500 record from a place not known for being all that good at football. Good luck selling that when it comes time for Browns season ticket holders to renew for 2019.

I'm not suggesting you're wrong about Campbell's interest - I have no idea. But Campbell's name being associated with tOSU job earlier came from inside tOSU camp. Campbell is also believed to have been approached by Tennessee this past off-season, but indicated he wasn't interested.

I believe strongly that in the football world (especially at the collegiate level), Campbell is respected and believed to be a rising star, well beyond just and average .500 coach from a place no known for being all that good at football.

What, it's not enough to have taken shots in the nads as a Cyclone fan in the past, you NOW want us to kick ourselves in our own collective nads about something we have no way of knowing if it will happen? Let's enjoy the ride in the moment. I don't often quote Garth Brooks, but these lyrics may sum it up perfectly in relationship to CMC (forgive that this is a romantic song and sounds like we were just Campaniling!)

The Dance
Garth Brooks

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd have to miss the dance
Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I the king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance

Campbell to Cleveland? Wouldn't the Cavs want someone who coached basketball?

The only thing that makes me believe this could happen is, it would be a really awful hire for the Browns and they love making horrible decisions.

CMC is not going to a Podunk NFL team. He knows after we win the Sugar bowl this year we are setting our sites on Purdy's first Natty next year.
