Brewery Discoveries on Vacation

My wife had a conference in SoCal a couple weeks back, and they were allowed to bring a guest. It's basically a week of her company kissing the ass of their biggest clients. I have to dress up a little and basically not embarrass my wife. This is pretty simple when you're surrounded by sales guys. Anyway.....I noticed that her company paid for two checked bags for each person. So while we were there we went through anehiem, which has an amazing craft beer roster. I filled up a bag with bubble wrap and 36 beers. Happy to report that they all made it back to Iowa.

Any Boston Brewery suggestions? Going to go check out Treehouse one day

If you're on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, the Niagara Brewing Company is a good spot. It's been too long since I've been to remember what I ordered but my wife absolutely loved the Honeymoon Peach Radler.

As expected, Belgium was amazing for beer and very cheap for high quality beer.

Even if you don't like using untappd, to check into beers, it's by far the best resource to find great beer and pubs. If you look at trending locations in a certain radius for the last 15 days, it's very easy to find places with great beer. This worked in small towns like Ypres, Gent, and Bruges and also large cities like Brussels.

The only downside to most of these bars is the number of beer options. It wasn't uncommon for these bars to have 5 taps and a couple hundred bottle choices. I was getting the best sours in the world for $6/pour.

Went to Clinton last weekend and RGB is a brewery that used to be an old church. Very cool. Beer is solid, but a great atmosphere even for heathens like myself.

I've always wanted to go after watching "In Bruge". I need to lose some weight first so I'm not the obese American that has a heart attack in the clock tower though.

My wife has a conference in Denver next month, and I'm going to join at the end for 3 days. I plan on staying in the Rino district and don't plan on having a car. So far I have the following places:

Cerebral Brewing
TRVE Brewing
Cohesion brewing

Briar Common Brewery + Eatery

Number Thirty Eight

Thoughts? Any other places in the area I should check out? Places to eat? I've never stayed overnight in Denver, so I'm not even sure this is a good area to stay in.

Went to Our Mutual Friend for a bachelor party and liked the couple beers I had. There was a BBQ place next door that smelled amazing. Cool little taproom

Got back from Denver on Sunday.

Went to Great Divide (Always loved their stuff), First Draft Taproom (pour your own), Our Mutual Friend, Burns Family (My Favorite), WestFax, and West Bound and Down. Brought home a 4 pack of Outer Range.

Also, visited Casa Bonita.

On a side note, it's been 15 years + since I've been to Denver. Dining downtown was alarmingly expensive for just basic meals. Breakfast was $25/person at a basic breakfast spot.

Going to Minneapolis in a few months. Will likely only have time for two breweries. Maybe three if I'm persuasive. Which ones do I HAVE to hit?

Was going to say New Realm in Atlanta and highlight the rooftop bar with a nice view of the city but then I looked at more recent pictures and discovered that view is now blocked by a giant building. That’s a shame.

Edit: and it looks like I already recommended it on page 2 back in 2021. Carry on.

I'd recommend Barrel Theory. I went to Blackstack a few years ago and it was good, but that was before they were readily available in Central Iowa. I think Dangerous Man has gone out of business.

I know it's fallen out of favor, and people tend to hate the big boys, but I'd also put Surly on my list.

If you like stouts, a Barrel Theory/Surly combo would be lights out. If you're an IPA person, Blackstack.
