Brackins

I don't think anyone is saying that he doesn't have the talent to go pro after this year. He still has a lot of areas to improve on though. Like that mid range jumper.

If he stays another year, he could easily be a top 5 pick instead of being in the top 20. Thats a huge difference when it comes to money.

I'm not trying to start a Cash4Brackins commercial (it's his money and he wants it now!) or anything...I'm just going to expect him to leave and be elated if he stays.

I think the second we're done with the conference tournament, it wouldn't be a bad decision for Craig to test the waters. Winning a few more of these final games in a fun way could help keep him though.

No doubt, I think everyone should expect him to go pro after this year. Ive said from day 1 that it would be smart for him to go through the draft process and get advice from all of the NBA teams and scouts. If they say your good enough then by all means, go for it Craig.

Re: NBA Brackins

NBAdraft.net has him at #12 right now. They are generally pretty close... Most of the ones who have him lower don't even have an evaluation for him yet...

NBAdraft.net doesn't have an evaluation for him yet, either.

Agree I see Craig as a Lamar Odom, Kevin Durant type more than a true power foward.

Only without being able to pass right? I'm not sure why everyone gets all googleyeyed over Brackins. Yeah, he scores a lot...BECAUSE HE DOESN'T PASS THE BALL. Brackins will make absolutely no impact in the NBA if he leaves after this year because of his lack of passing abilities. Not only can he not pass, but this inability forces him to take wreckless shots. 3 pointers? He is 0-9 in the last two games, or how about 9-31 in his last 10 games. You're telling me there were no better options on the court the last 31 times he launched up a 3? He is a great inside scorer but a horribly selfish non-team player.

Can we stop with this stuff? He is absolutely not that in any way. He takes a crapload of shots because he's the only player that can make them. I would love to see the rest of the starter's shooting percentages in conference play. I bet they are terrible. Who else would you want them running plays for?

Craig is always one of the first guys congratulating his teammates.

wow...I only read through 2.5 pages of this thread. That was enough for me. Brackins may not have had the numbers he had against Kansas, but that is a good thing. It means the rest of the team was contributing too. Brackins had a great game against Baylor. I could do without his 3-point shooting because he needs to relearn how to shoot from out there. His shot is sideways from long range. Inside, however, Brackins is unstoppable and he showed it again last night. He played the way I have been hoping to see him play. Took less 10 foot jumpers and brought it straight to the basket for an easy dunk. I don't understand why anyone would complain about that. Brackins should be dunking more often. I loved it. I think he had a pretty good showing for the NBA scouts.

I hope he stays, but why rip on him as a way to make you feel better about his chances of staying. He is a great player whether he stays or not, and that is one thing that cannot be controlled. You have to expect the coaches to make a player better. If that means they make him into an NBA player by his sophomore year, then they are doing a tremendous job.

If anything he should be more selfish. I would like to see him get a touch every possession.

Your point might be valid if we had a second scorer on this team but we don't. He IS the offense.

Terribly misinformed post.

You, my friend, are in over your head when talking basketball. To the kiddie pool for you.

CB will not be at ISU next year because he will be in the NBA and I'll cite 2 reasons.

1. He will be one of a few talented big men in the draft.
2. The rumblings of a salary cap that may impact starting salaries.

If I'm wrong, I'll be elated. Either way, good luck with your decision, Craig!
