Bowl Game

USC losing/winning probably doesnt really matter, the Pac 12 gets 1 auto invite regardless...

USC losing effectively eliminates whoever ends up #12 from getting a potential at-large spot, since the Pac-12 rep will almost assuredly be outside the top 12.

USC winning may move them into the top 12 (since they were #15 before beating UCLA), which could leave #12 in the at-large pool.

If you're looking at worst-case scenario (losing to OU), then it's all about keeping #10-12 in play.

Mandel has us in Alamo vs. Colorado. Has Indiana getting the Fiesta spot.

I've said it once and I'll say it again-- the Indiana love ****** me off. Can't even win their own division in their own conference, and have beaten absolutely no one. I don't get it. Beat Michigan, Penn State and Wisconsin when people were under the mistaken belief they were decent, but with the benefit of time we know they suck.

Now it looks like they wont play Purdue. Unreal.

Fiesta isn't letting any fans into the game. If ISU goes to Cotton or Alamo I would try to go.

Yeah the Indiana love has gotten to be over the top. The national media LOVES the story. The "no name" coach, the bad program supposedly turning it around, the close loss to Ohio St, even though it was 35-7 at one point and think the Buckeyes fell asleep for a bit. Now don't have to face Iowa or even Purdue this week.

It's obvious they gained traction early on by beating Penn State and Michigan. Two "ranked wins" in the first 3 weeks. And that momentum has carried them forwards despite it becoming evidence those are two very bad teams.

Even the Wisconsin win is proving to be a joke.

Have a hard time seeing SEC getting 3 at large berths there, especially Florida with 3 losses.

I think thought of highly enough in CFP group we are safely in after Miami and Florida losses.

McMurphy has us winning Saturday and playing Florida in Cotton Bowl

i always thought if you were basically in the top 12 of the final cfp rankings, you'd get a ny6 bowl. Im sure there are some exceptions

They did win their division -- until the rules were changed to protect the brand name.
Extrapolating out, even of Ohio State had played another division game and lost it, they would still win the division based on their H2H win over 7Windiana.

The rules were dumb. They lost the head-to-head. There are zero reasons to give the division trophy to Indiana.

That doesn't change the fact that by the rules that were agreed upon by the whole conference before the season, Indiana won the division -- until the B1G decided that protecting the brand was suddenly more important.

Remember, Ohio State created this mess by ducking Illinois. All they had to do was play that game, and none of this would even be a discussion. But here we are. The entity that was responsible for its own shortcoming has now benefited from it.

One autobid is going to be held for Oregon, so we need to stay in the top 11 probably to get a NY6 bowl. I think Fiesta Bowl is our most likely landing spot.
