While the ACC, BIG, and PAC have teams opt out of bowl games, the SEC and Big 12 would likely never take that step. Might see a bunch of Big 12/SEC matchups this bowl season...

I’m with you.
I can understand this but have a feeling if they would be going to a better bowl/location this wouldn't be happening.
There's hope for the HuskersIsn’t everyone bowl eligible?
Lol no. No there isn’t.There's hope for the Huskers
Smurf TurfI think Jack Trice Stadium is available on January 1st!
But that eliminates a NY6 Game + the National Championship Game is in Miami. So, they need to find a place to host the Rose Bowl (like Atlanta hosted the Sugar Bowl in 2005 due to Hurricane Katrina), but not to replace another NY6 Bowl.Have the orange bowl one of the semi final sites this season and next year the rose bowl can be a semi final site you can have some fans at the orange bowl problem solved.
Turning down extra practice days with your team seems silly and short sighted
How about @ Legion Field in Birmingham as a replacement for the Birmingham Bowl - which is already scheduled on Jan. 1st on ESPN?As someone pointed out, the Rose bowl was already played on the east coast in 1942 out of fear the Japanese would attack the west coast. Seems something similar could be arranged. I've thought for a long time a lot of the lower tier bowls will opt out. Way too many of them any way. Is a 6-5 BC team opting out of a lower tier bowl really that surprising?
Lol no. No there isn’t.![]()
Yankee Stadium! that is sure to be a winner . . . . or not.But that eliminates a NY6 Game + the National Championship Game is in Miami. So, they need to find a place to host the Rose Bowl (like Atlanta hosted the Sugar Bowl in 2005 due to Hurricane Katrina), but not to replace another NY6 Bowl.
