I think Jamie’s thought is TCU won’t get a NYs 6 without a win.

I think that is pretty much what Jamie said on the call-in show last night. If TCU wins, the Big 12 will have two NY6 bowls. If TCU loses, the Big 12 will have no NY6 bowls. Although I may not have understood it correctly as I was driving at the time. I was really surprised that he would go into so much detail.

DO NOT WANT

If this were to happen, I'd love to see the Cyclones take a pass.

I'll take playing a Pac 12 schools in the Cactus over playing an AAC team.

FWIW, I did see Sporting News projected us in Texas Bowl against Oregon.

USA Today which was released today has us in Cactus as well against Arizona State... but also K-State in Camping World Bowl.

(TCU into NY6) depends on 1) How far ND falls after getting their ass kicked by Stanford, 2) If USC beats Stanford in the PAC 12 title game and 3) if TCU is competitive.

Also if Wisconsin beats Ohio State in B10 title game. OSU could not possibly jump TCU in that case. So then it's down to Alabama, Miami, Auburn/Georgia, UCF and Pac-12 champion (which I doubt can leapfrog TCU either, pardon the pun).

10-3 Ohio St absolutely goes over a 10-3 TCU, no chance of that helping us.

Playing Memphis on their home field would really suck. No one should have to play 8 road games in one season. Also, why would Memphis want to play there? Some reward for getting to a bowl game. Stay in the dorm and walk to the game...

Since 1959 they have never played a bowl game in the Liberty Bowl.

I could see that being one reason that they would want to, since they never have.

I wonder what the ticket allotment would be in that situation. I know Memphis had a record for season ticket sales in August, but not sure how that would play into it (if at all).

This doesn't seem possible. Even if the SEC gets three schools into NY6 bowls, they still have enough eligible schools to fill the remaining seven bowls they have ties with (including the Liberty Bowl). The Liberty Bowl will likely be Big 12 vs Missouri or Kentucky.
I don't think so, because Ole Miss is serving a self-imposed postseason ban.

So if 3 SEC teams got NY6 bids, they'd be one bowl short, and the Liberty Bowl is last in the pecking order.

Right. SEC has 9* Bowl Eligible teams.

Georgia 11-1
South Carolina 8-4
Kentucky 7-5
Missouri 7-5

SEC - West
Auburn10-2
Alabama 11-1
LSU 9-3
Mississippi State 8-4
Texas A&M 7-5

Ole Miss* 6-6

*****EDIT: Ole Miss is not bowl eligible due to self ban ****

The Liberty isn't last. It's third to last ahead of the Birmhingham Bowl and the Indepedence Bowl. I have a hard believing that the SEC would fill the Birmhingham Bowl and not the Liberty Bowl. One is a lot better than the other
