Bowl Game Projections

Oh...and we will play some chit school like Missouri
Yeah, if i had to put $$$ down on it this is what I'd bet for the location (Memphis) and Opponent (Missouri).

Facing Drew Lock would not be a fun game for our defense.

It’s gonna be Memphis and it’s gonna be against Mizzou. They’ll play for the Telephone Trophy and Mizzou will likely win. Again. ISU will finish 7-6 on the season. It’ll be incredibly depressing as ISU loses 4 of it’s last 5 games after starting 6-2. Instead of being something special, it’ll just be another mediocre 7 win season.

If this team doesn’t win 8 games, I’ll consider it no different than 2009, 2005, or 2002. Mediocre.

Missouri will shred us. They are on a serious roll with a first round QB. We on the other hand are on our heels like Seneca's season.

I agree with the mediocre season in this sense, at the start of the year if we were told we’d finish 7-6, we’d consider it a success because we made a bowl game and probably won it because no one expected us to win some of the games we did. But my view is that as the season goes along, you change expectations. We were 6-2. So you’re guna tell me when we start 6-2, you’ll be happy if we end up 7-6 because we won 7 games? No. We should very easily be 8-4, 9-3 right now. We aren’t and that’s what matters, but I will say this, we better be foaming at the mouth mad and spend the next 5 weeks figuring out how to beat a team by 9+ so the refs can’t even pretend to have a say in our game. We better win the bowl game. But that’s just one guys opinion.

Word out of Manhattan is that the Liberty is leaning K State.... we probably go to Houston or Phoenix

Probably. We actually ended up 7th in the conference after tie breakers, how depressing is that? KSU is ahead of us. I know bowls can pick whoever they want though, so who knows?

I think if it's one of the Dec 26th bowls, ISU fans won't travel.

Here’s a fun scenario

OU - Playoff
TCU - Alamo Bowl
OSU - Camping World Bowl
Texas - Texas Bowl
WVU - Liberty Bowl
KSU - Cactus Bowl
Tech - Heart of Dallas Bowl
ISU - At-large Bowl bid

Pretty likely someone from the Big 12 goes to the at-large pool. It could easily be ISU

We'll be picked ahead of TT I'd hope, but Bowlsby might just tell the bowls to screw ISU the way we've been treated.

I hope the bowls see what our fan base is starving and thirsty for. While by record standings (bulls$hit) we finished where we did in the Big 12, our fans will travel more than most to damn near every bowl game. I’m selfishly talking about Orlando, but in total Iowa State fashion, Memphis is guna grab us I’m sure. This game meant so much more than just the letter W.

That's not how it works at all. We are in a tie for 4th. The tiebreakers are only there to help decide finite spots in the championship game.

I know, but bowls could look at it that way. But they only care about $$, so I'm sure they won't even care about that.

I'm just thinking that those on here not wanting Memphis might change their mind if we somehow got moved all the way down to an at-large bowl.

Memphis on a Saturday over New Years weekend probably beats either of the two bowls the day after Christmas IMO.

No way a bowl in Texas passes on a Power 5 team from Texas

The at-large bowls are terrible FYI. Detroit, Tampa Bay, Birmingham, and Shreveport are power 5 bowl bids that won’t be filled by their original conference affiliation that would be options. Gross.

There will be more bowl eligible teams than Bowl this year too. 78 teams are guaranteed to be eligible right now with 4 other teams needing to win to get a bowl. It’s possible 4 teams won’t have bowls this year, but they’ll be group of 5 teams for sure.
