No way a bowl in Texas passes on a Power 5 team from Texas

The at-large bowls are terrible FYI. Detroit, Tampa Bay, Birmingham, and Shreveport are power 5 bowl bids that won’t be filled by their original conference affiliation that would be options. Gross.

There will be more bowl eligible teams than Bowl this year too. 78 teams are guaranteed to be eligible right now with 4 other teams needing to win to get a bowl. It’s possible 4 teams won’t have bowls this year, but they’ll be group of 5 teams for sure.

so, Nebraska won’t get another invitation to the Foster Brooks bowl in SF?

I'd gladly take Memphis again as long as it's not 35 degrees under gloomy conditions at kickoff against an opponent ISU has already played this year.

Memphis in late December could be anywhere from 65 degrees to the 35 you mentioned. Really a crap-shoot.

Did it? I thought all the Big 12 teams split the bowl revenue?

OU making the playoff would help us a LOT, and then TT making it to 6 wins also helped us too if I'm right?

Yea, the conference splits all bowl money after it covers the cost for each school to play in the bowl game. So basically, they split the profits.

Texas Tech getting to 6 wins did add to the money pool, but a very small amount. Getting OU in the playoff and TCU in a NY6 would be A LOT more money for everyone. That’s why Stanford winning tonight is big, it likely kicks ND out of the NY6 for TCU

Are you sure TCU would still get in over ND, or anyone else for that matter? You know how they like to screw over the Big 12, right?

If B12 can get 2 in NY6 (TCU & OU), I think we get Camping World (OSU - Alamo). If we only get one in NY6, we'll drop to Liberty or Cactus. I don't think there's any chance for Texas Bowl which chooses between Camping World and Liberty.

If somehow it knocked us to heart of dallas or lower, it cost us money. Otherwise we're looking at roughly the same bowl stipend (+ or - mileage) no matter what bowl we were going to.

That's not how it works at all. We are in a tie for 4th. The tiebreakers are only there to help decide finite spots in the championship game.
This, I am not sure where people get the idea tie breakers for 4th place come into play.
ISU will probably be the first or 2nd choice amongst that group. There is an outside shot they could get an Alamo invite, if the Alamo has concerns of attendance inviting OSU again.

From the Big 12 site
Big 12 Bowl Partners
Once the CFP has filled its bowl slots, Big 12 bowl partners will make selections from the remaining bowl eligible teams. Following is the order of selection. A bowl may pick from any available teams when it reaches its spot in the selection order.
Valero Alamo
Camping World
AdvoCare V100 Texas
AutoZone Liberty
Cactus
Zaxby's Heart of Dallas

Stanford is doing the big 12 a gigantic favor tonight. Based of last week’s playoff rankings, it’d be 9-3 ND vs 10-3 TCU for the last spot in the NY6 IMO
