What is the obsession with Bowen Born? I understand the desire to have kids from Iowa on the Iowa State roster but why him? If better players have not been extended offers in the past, why should Bowen be given attention when every recruiting site clearly states he’s not that type of talent? I’m sure in a few years, he’s going to develop into a nice player at UNI but if you can’t distinguish the difference between a kid playing in the Valley opposed to the Big12 then maybe you shouldn’t be watching basketball.

Since some on this board are so obsessed with what a player looks I guarantee you that if this kid wasn’t white some of you would kill CSP for not offering.

It's been mentioned several times, but he literally doesn't have a P5 offer.

When Iowa doesn't even offer the scrappy, undersized Iowa kid you know there may be an issue.

Agreed, its funny here to see people say Tre Jackson is going to be good but scoff at Born. Jackson had 20 offers, 18 were from mid majors, he was worth a risk. Idc about offering Born but it's funny how different a guy from out of state is treated.
Again, which of our signed recruits would Born have replaced?

Let's throw some logic into what the coaches are thinking and seeing.

Born is 5'11", the ONLY position he can play is PG.

Coaches look for their PGs to distribute the ball. Born averaged 3.6 assists per game last year. He's a ball hog. Comparatively, the 6'2" DJ Carton averaged 6.0 assists per game.

If the coaches around him told him to pass more and become a playmaker, I think that he could given coaches a reason to take him more seriously. But when you play Uzabuike, Garza, Tshiebwe, TCU's Samuel and all the other team's post, Good luck driving to the basket.

Born is a ball hog because he has to be. When the talent is u and a bunch of average guys you have to take over
