I wish but I think he addressed the Ryan stuff and said he's committed to Wisconsin regardless of coach but a lot could've changed since than.
 
I'm wondering if he did it to make sure "his" guy got the job with no questions asked.
 
UNI better start cheering for Greg Gard to win a lot of games this year. If he starts losing games, I wonder if they don't keep him around as the Head Coach? I'm sure Jacobson is on Alvarez's short list.
 
Man that is odd. Its got to be a combination of things. Not very cool to quit on your team this early in the season though

Just had a press conference with the announcement. Apparently planned to allow assistant time to get through some family issues.
 
has to be something. You just don't step down in mid season like that.
Feel bad for him. I always thought ISU basketball should mentor Michigan St and Wisconsin.
 
Has to be health related. Ryan is a good guy. No way he quit because his team was not as good as normal.
 
Big 10 Twitter has the video. Sounds like he wanted to leave in April. Stayed around because Barry and Tom Davis said don't make decisions at the end of the season. Gards dad was fighting cancer in May and stayed on to help him deal with it. Don't know if that is all of it or not, but wanted to stay until Semester's end. Check it out. Not sure I can post video .
