This will make for a good trivia question someday
Who played in more games: Breece Hall in the 2020 season or Troy Davis in the 1996 season?
Anyone want to wager who will come out ahead?

I had the same thought.Pete Taylor might be equally as great to see/hear in that video as Troy.
I remember that 1996 season well. Being a kid and feeling super excited that they were close. Also, I remember being at the Wyoming game. That was a weird one to say the least. I believe the first OT in ISU history.
How bad did that UNLV team have to be on defense? 302 yard from one guy in 2.5 quarters....
Was at the game. It was one of the rare total and complete ISU routs and a glorious watch. Remember the 2nd string back rushing for 100 yards. Next 3rd string back rushed for just short of 100 yards. I so much wanted him to get his 100 since he never got carries but we took a couple knees to end the game.
Looked the summary up:
Troy Davis, who came into the game as the nation's leading rusher, ran for a then-school-record 302 yards on 36 carries for a school-record five touchdowns as Iowa State rolled to a 57-30 victory over UNLV. Davis scored on runs of 20, 8, 66, 80 and 5 yards as Iowa State bolted to a 34-0 lead. Davis left the game with 5:19 left in the third quarter. Backup tailback Graston Norris rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns after Davis' departure, including a 91-yard scoring scamper that was the second-longest run in school history.Jahi Arnold rushed for a career-high 90 yards on 11 carries. Iowa State's 586 rushing yards were a school record and its eight rushing TDs were also a school mark. The Cyclones racked up 648 total yards, the second-best mark in school history. ISU averaged a school-record 8.4 yards per rush and tied the school record with 21 first downs by rush. Things weren't all rosy for Iowa State as starting quarterback Todd Doxzon reinjured his angle with 11:40 left in the third quarter after hitting on 5-of-5 pass attempts for 43 yards. Doxzon was replaced by freshman Todd Bandhauer.
Your forgetting our game in Dallas mid December!
That must have been the game where Danny Mac utilized some unique coaching strategy by taking the ball first after winning the toss.
It was actually the first OT game in Div I football.I remember that 1996 season well. Being a kid and feeling super excited that they were close. Also, I remember being at the Wyoming game. That was a weird one to say the least. I believe the first OT in ISU history.

I’ll just leave this here. You young bucks around here just don’t even know...
ISU chose the south end of the field.
Wyoming chose defense.
That's how ISU ended up with the ball first.
So Wyoming won the toss?
No.
ISU won the toss and chose to play at the south end of the field (there are 3 options on that coin toss).
Wyoming then took defense.
That left ISU with the ball.
That's what I said in post #24. Danny Mac's decision to take the ball first is a one and only in ISU history.
Iowa State didn't choose offense.
Correct. But the right call (made 100% of the time now) is to always choose defense.
Are you saying Dan Mac made the right call by choosing what goal to play to?
