The only people at the center of the WJ saga were WJ's brother, GMAC, and WJ.
FYI.... I think JP and GG would be willing to bring in anybody that can revive our basketball program from where it currently sits..... on the brink of death.

Well, if Greg is retained (and I think he will be), watch the little basketball interest there is here dry up.
At least that way they can all sit together and gather consensus on all the reasons we don't win, because it certainly can't be Greg's fault.

In the article yesterday about WJ it said that the terms of his conditional release were that he could not transfer to a school on our schedule the following seasons. Also based on that article I don't remember Kentucky being on the list of potential schools that WJ was even looking at transferring to.
It seems to me that ISU fans are the only ones who think we don't have (or wouldn't take) a shot at Gillespie. His name has came up multiple times from my friends who are KU and MU fans when discussing our next basketball coach. So he looks like a good fit to outsiders at least.

you guys are oblivious. Gillispie is one of the reasons that Mac hasn't got it done, he took our star player right out from underneath us. We were set up to do some things that year, and the biggest piece to the puzzle up and left.
Billy Gillspie, Bill Clinton or Bill Cosby...I don't care at this point. I have just lost all hope in this program going anywhere on Greg McDermott. Every year we spend with him at the helm is a year we fall further behind the competition. We have to try something new, because the way this team has played this year, and the way this program has trended lately is alarming.

Do you really think that Wes is going to come out and say that Kentucky was his first choice with all that was going on and the fact he wasn't released there anyway? Not to mention I have heard murmurs in the past (take it fwiw)that had Wes tried to go to Kentucky then ISU would've acted on the "tampering" of Kentucky through the NCAA.
Neither did GMAC. Did GMAC come out and say that he had called out our star player in front of the team and called him soft etc? Did he tell everyone how he rode him in practice while he was injured and made him do extra sprints when he had an obvious leg injury?
Right.... GMAC is always the victim. I am sure the other 40 players that have bailed on the program would all give GMAC glowing recommendations. :no:
