I dont think that was possible this year. More 6-6+ teams than available slots even.
I saw a K-Stater post this hour documentary on Vimeo last night (narrated by Mike Rowe). Most of us know the work he did to turn that place around, but this does a GREAT job really showing it. Certainly things have changed in the college football landscape. Also, put your ISU goggles on as you watch this and you'd swear at times CMC is Bill (which is a good thing) in terms of how he's doing things. It's titled "The Miracle in Manhattan"
Stuff likes this proves Sean won't be HC. Won't let Bill build it and his son drive it into the ground.
I'm guessing NDSU's Chris Klieman, if he doesn't take the Ohio State job.

Littrell turned down KSU. LOL.
This is freaking awesome. I can't believe the mess in Manhattan. Did they expect Synder to live and coach successfully for another decade?! They knew the day was coming where they'd have to replace him and this is their best laid plan? A fumbled national coaching search?
I hope KSU stumbles around for another 2 weeks and ends up with a terrible hire.
The issue here is who wants to be the coach to replace a legend? It's like replacing Dean Smith at UNC - the guy who did was constantly being compared to DS & had a very short tenure. KSU could still make a fantastic hire - the program has good facilities and fan support and, now, has a good football tradition. BUT, these last few years in Manhattan have been average at best - perhaps a program in decline. I, too, wouldn't mind them fumbling this hire & setting them back for awhile. We will see - but, I am rather glad that they did NOT get Littrell.

Fortunately for us, no one told him that he needs experience and just hoped his dad would give him the job.
I've been enjoying following this search and KSU has been turned down twice now with Venebles and Littrell.
Don't you think that Littrell determined he has a better avenue of landing the OU job if is isn't at KSU? That has to be his dream scenario...ending up at OU...and it seems that if he took the KSU job it might make getting to OU more difficult for a variety of reasons.
Reading between the lines, it sounds like KSU was trying to put a huge buyout in any potential contract. They don't want to hire someone and lose them in 4-5 years, which although admiral, isn't gonna happen.
Klieman would be a good hire, but he has zero power 5 experience except for 1997 as a Kansas DB coach. And Klieman isn't going to leave NDSU in the middle of another National Title run so his hire would even further limit KSU's recruiting.
