I found a clip of Bills reaction when he started losing games and was asked to leave KState.

I'm holding out for Ron Prince, TBH.

Kudos to him and I can only hope ISU has the same sort of sustained success over the next several years.

Pretty crazy that a coach whose team is so fundamentally sound and has been so dominant over ISU ended his career in typical ISU fashion.

Or, when the new coach tanks he will be back in 5 years to resurrect them once again. I mean he will only be mid 800's by then. Don't most vampires live until at least 900?

For as much as Bill and Hayden destroyed us over the years, a couple things are gloriously similar in their last seasons as coaches : 1) they lost to us, and 2) their teams failed to make a bowl game! AND THIS IS ALSO TRUE of Bill's 1st retirement (2005 season)!
Thanks for the 4th Quarter meltdown, Bill - it was glorious to kick your a$$ (just like in 2005)! AND, as an added bonus, you can spend your entire retirement thinking about that humiliating loss that cut your coaching tenure short.

It’s a stretch to say his coaching tenure was short.

I'm also not entirely sure he was going to stay regardless of the ISU game (although it likely didn't help).

But it wasn't like he was planning on (almost said 'dead set', but, you know) another 10 years until the last 10 minutes in Ames happened.

Not exactly sure.
I think he waited until today to see if KSU was one of those 5-7 teams that 2-3 usually make bowls. When they didn’t, called it.
