Bigger issue with DeJean-Jones

I don't mind the coaches looking out and being a mentor for their young people. The world would be a better place if we all had someone to do that for us at that age.

But to the point, we really know very little about who these guys are. A few articles is right. I've been friends with a lot of people who others would thumb their noses at.

I feel like I need a Pony Boy gif for this.

What the ****?

Some guys are so talented they can get away with not being focused on basketball 24/7. BDJ may be one of those. Nader on the other hand...

I'd prefer they do nothing but sleep and ball, but that is just not realistic.

60 dBs is what the cops picked up. 5 over the limited for that time of day. He wasn't blasting music. If you have ever lived in an APT in Ames you would know those walls are paper thin. Was he in the wrong? Yes, but to say he was blasting music is asinine.

And it was measured in the hallway so I don't want to hear any "well the sound wasn't loud because the cops were outside".

agreed, i want a team full of JJ Watts!!

As I said, "BASED PRETTY MUCH SOLELY ON THE MARYLAND GAME"... I didn't see the GA St game. I don't get to see every single game so take that opinion for what it's worth. It's the most unimportant point of my entire post. I also said the selfish play I saw in that game seems to have been rectified. However, I'll be interested to see the next game where there is adversity and how he reacts.

You mean the game where no one else on the team could make a basket and he pretty much HAD to score by himself?

My recommendation is drop the holier than thou attitude, and just enjoy the season. BDJ is gone in 4 months after the season is over.

Not to mention that he has been one of the most efficient players in the entire nation.

I laugh at people criticizing his game. We all clearly love Naz as a player, but he's been more selfish and careless with the ball at times this year without any of that criticism. Scoring players like Naz and BDJ have to shoot and attack, it's what they're out there for. Nobody in the country has scored more efficiently from his position than BDJ this year. Good grief.

Is this right? Because earlier I thought the report was outside. If it was in the hallway, that's a very different story as far as noise level and really makes the last call to the police a bit more ridiculous; if it is inside the building isn't noise the jurisdiction of the landlord versus the cops?

Its college basketball in 2014. Not 1975. If he is eligible until late April and gets his grades and keeps us in good standing. Im ok with that. His major in college is basketball. Some choose engineering or become a doctor. Elite athletes choose sports. The sooner people realize athletes are not going to college to further their sports careers the better. Not everyone is going to be the best team mate. Michael Jordan was a jerk. Tom Brady is a jerk. However they can ball and gets wins. If bdj gets us further in the tourny. Then that is all i really care about. Win a national title and and all is forgivin. Sorry for the spelling and grammar.

I think the bigger issue is the sense of entitlement people get for being able to dunk a basketball.

Some reporter tweeted it out. I'll go find it.

@CBlank_ISU According to the police report, a noise reading was taken from the hallway outside the door.

How's the view from your soap box?

I'd wager 50% of the people here would have been in some kind of trouble like this while they were in college had they been high profile athletes.

I'm usually pretty harsh on athletes when they get in trouble, but this just feels like someone being targeted.

If he's being targeted, perhaps he should stop jumping in front of the sights.

It's actually the city ordinance that states where the reading is to be taken from - and that's to be done from the street. Perhap different rules may apply for things like multiplexes, or when the complaint comes from within a bldg?

Well if they didn't take the reading from the right/legal spot, then you can bet BDJ's attorney will be all over that.

I would think so.

Landlord cannot have a favorable ruling on non-compliance of a rental agreement for eviction unless the police have come out for a DPQ. The accused would say the landlord is singling them out and there isn't any proof. Not saying it is right as the landlord can issue violations at any point.

Would use 562A.18 Rules as well as 562A.27A. Boring, I know.

Loud neighbors in the middle of the night are the worst. Smoke pot as much as you like, but shut the hell up.
