I assume we would go 9+Iowa

Unless the state wanted to throw UNI a bone and they kept Iowa and we kept SD

Big 10 playing no non con games. We’d play USD or an SEC team.

At this point I’d cut my losses and just hope for conference games.

If I’m Bowlsby I’m laying ground rules for testing/ positive tests etc, for the conference. Then sign off on scheduling with the schools input. Maybe you say UNI is approved but UNLV isn’t. Take it case by case. Put in the contract the right to cancel. It’s such an unusual time, every school is ready to work through these scenarios.

This was a pitch to them by some guy trying to preserve his marquee non-conference games if the Big12/SEC/ACC capitulate on their non-conference schedules. I don't see anything in that article that says the Big12 is actually considering this as of now.

Dodd is a bit more critical of efforts to play this season than many.

This makes sense. Standardize testing, rules, policy amongst the ACC/SEC/Big12; ie. twice/week, daily, etc. and then create a 10 game schedule starting 9/12. You have the finanical wherewithal and aligned interests amongst this group to execute.

Home games are going to be worthless. There won't be any fans in the stands.

At this point it's all about negotiating with TV providers and salvaging compelling TV matchups and ensuring the season finishes. I expect SD & UNLV to be removed from the schedule and replaced with a compelling SEC match-up for our first tilt.

I can see the point of keeping rivalry games like USC v Clemson, GA v GA Tech, FL v FSU. But if colleges are going to play 9 or 10 games, I would expect the ACC and SEC to schedule another conference game if a big instate rivalry doesn't exist. Playing another conference game would be more attractive to the SEC & ACC TV Network folks vs playing a Big 12 opponent. It would also allow easier travel.

If Big12 teams can play a plus 1 I would think it would be South Dakota.

This makes sense for ACC and SEC that play less conference games than everyone else. I'll be happy if we can keep the nine Big 12 games.

If you're gonna play 10, you might as well just play 12.

i think the argument is against travelling long distance for non con match ups and the difficulties that would surround playing teams from other conferences.

it's also difficult when every conference is playing by their own rules

Sound like the Big 10 blindsided the other conferences. How sweet would it be if that end up biting them in the long run? Karma can be a *****.
