Big Brother 22

I don’t like Dani and wouldn’t mind her gone, but at least she is trying to do something in my eyes. I think it all blows up for her soon

Dani is at least playing the game. Rachel was the worst. I told my daughter that if she was gonna be on this season I was not watching this year. She annoyed me so much that I almost quit watching the season.

Also Dani's dad **** fits his name perfect. Wanna be Tommy Lee.

Another big fight last night. Not sure how much will make the episode.

Just watched the clip on YouTube. Agree, don't feel like too much of it really accomplishes much unless they just want to highlight drama. Seemed a little overblown getting offended on somebody else's behalf over something being claimed as "personal game information".

Bayleigh is a professional victim. Rich girl that thinks she is constantly being oppressed yet ignores her constant talking down to people and ignorant to her own destruction of her game. She even admitted in feeds about turning the jury on Tyler for bitter reasons and laughed about costing him money. Then made a comment laughing about Angela selling her car. She sucks. I don’t like Christmas but Bayleigh only has herself to blame.

I did not like her in S20 and still feel like it’s weird that people think they owe her apology for game play in S20

Coming in to S22, I really wanted to like her and give her a 2nd chance and was hoping her and Tyler would work together. Seeing just how she acts though would be hard to deal with. Just insane comments to get worked up over. There was one scene where her and Xmas was on the bed close to each other and Xmas backed up and she said with attitude that she doesn’t need to back up and be scared of her. Just comments like that would irritate me.

While I do think, Black players are at a huge disadvantage due to sheer numbers, it sucks that players are now altering their game because they are afraid of the backlash. Xmas made a comment on this could ruin her life. If you check twitter, it’s a cesspool with comments that her and Tyler are racists. That is pretty much the reason why Tyler was wanting to leave. Unless I missed something, there hasn’t been anything that crossed the line. Tyler was looking out for Day/Bay by telling them the truth about Dani.

Xmas doesn’t owe and explanation. They are a duo and those get taken out.

The reason players are afraid of backlash is because for the first time ever, Big Brother required all houseguests take racial sensitivity training. In a combined 4 seasons, Bayleigh, Da'Vonne, and David have combined to win one...ONE...HOH or Veto competition.

Tyler is a great player but I have no doubt the reason he is teaming up with these three more than others is because of national perception. He's a much better player than to put his game on the line for three non-competitors (I get teaming up with David, a la Derrick teaming up with Victoria)

For the record, I do think the social justice talks have been great for the most part on the show; much better than we've seen in the past. But there are much, much better African American Big Brother players than the three production has put in front of us. I'd take Swaggy C and Devin (****** social games, unreal competitors) or Amber and Candice over the competitors we were handed this season. I think the group we were given was more of a "See! We aren't racist!" move as opposed to a move of getting real, true Big Brother competitors in the house who also happen to be African American.

I will say, I would love to see a new season where they really mess with the dynamics. Take an average for races casted on BB and flip it. Have like 12 black guests, 3 white, 4-5 latino, 4-5 asian and see how it goes. They would never do that for fear they wont have the viewers but it would be interesting. I bet you would see the exact same behavior dynamic only flipped.

I am not sure what Tyler is thinking right now. He tried to get evicted so someone black could win the game? Just confused on why he would want someone black to win without actually winning. That is not a victory. That would be a win by forfeit.

I think he just was conflicted on many fronts and didn't handle it well. Ever since he found out Kaci wasn't going to be on he's not been having fun this season. He's wanted to go home. He saw this week as his last chance to get home before jury and probably felt conflicted about just quitting. So while I think he does care about black people and their cause, he handled it poorly. He should have just quit if thats how he felt. So when production and Christmas talked him out of it, he should have gone back to Bay and Day right away and apologized for how he handled it....that being said he's not perfect and I'll give him an objective chance going forward. He's still by far the best strategic player in the house.

Yes certainly would be fun to see how it plays out.

Or hell go back to the BB14 format where you start in teams. It forces you to work with people beyond who you're comfortable with.

BB 14 - Jodi (out first)
BB 15 - Howard (out 5th) and Candice (out 6th) in perhaps the most racist season in BB history (there’s a reason no one from this season is on All Stars)
BB 16 - Devin (out 3rd) Amber (out 5th) Jocasta (out 6th)
BB17 - Da’vonne (out 2nd)
BB18 - Da’vonne (out 6th) Zakiyah (out 7th)
BB19 - Dominique (out 4th)
BB20 - Swaggy (out 2nd) Bay (out 6th)
BB21 - David (out first) Kemi (out 3rd)

I don’t recall anything before BB14, but I’m shocked no African Americans since have finished in the top half of their season

My reason for the post- is it production or players that struggle? As production, I don’t think you can bring in people like Da, Dominique, Kemi, Jocasta and expect good to come from it. Not competitive, not social, only adds drama to the house but it isn’t entertaining drama.

Production nailed it with guys like Devin and Swaggy, great competitors, but I figure it’s not easy to find people who get so paranoid and power hungry.

Candice, Amber, Howard posed very little issues in the house, but were either competitive or had very athletic builds that would make them comp beasts. This is where I think the houseguests could be to blame - these three, if I recall, did nothing to get voted out except have impressive figures.

Lots to unpack here but I'll give my thoughts:

-I don't think production or house-guests are outwardly racist. Sometimes, decisions made to vote out a person of color is because of a comfort of being in the power structure made up of white people, and other times its probably game play and people are reading into it too much.

-I'm starting to see more and more online and podcasts that the only reason to vote out a black player has to be because of micro aggression or implicit bias. This is a dangerous road to go down. Sometimes it's simply a game move.

-People have called out warning others that Bay is going to blow up as a micro-aggression against blacks but let's be honest she DID blow up in BB20. Not sure why that's never brought up.

-You can make a case that CBS hasn't cast enough black people over the years. I hope they continue to include more diversity and walks of life in their casting. That said, the blacks they have cast have mostly sucked at the game.

-Last year, seeing David, Ovi, and Kemi all voted out wasn't great optics, but doesn't necessarily mean racism was behind it.

-Devin and David could fight it out for the worst BB player in history.

-Swaggy was backdoored because Tyler was on to him being the only one going after Tyler early on. It was a great game move. Swaggy would have been a force.

I'm closing the gap this coming week. BOOK IT.

I'm closing the gap this coming week. BOOK IT.

Your best bet might be to sell all your shares and pick one player you think is going to pick it up and go all in on them. High risk but high reward.

(That may or may not be what I did)

Holy crap David stock is so cheap. If he can somehow freaking get on the block and use that power, he'd gain a little game respect and his stock would rise. So risky though.

They should be asking why big brother don't cast better black players. I have never really saw a black person voted out and thought it happened do to race. I have always seen the game move involved. Even this season if you look at it. The worst players basically teamed up with the worst players. Tyler, Enzo, and Cody had to be the top 3 entering the house. Yet, the only one to kind of team up with Tyler was David and he is a moron who gave away the game of Tyler. Bayleigh and D both are super emotional type people and blow up to often.

Maybe cast more people that can keep themselves in check like Wendell Holland and Jeremy Collins from Survivor instead of trying for ratings and getting these type cast players. Wendell would kill it in big brother.

How do you cast a better black player though? You cast who you think might do well but hard to say until they're in the house. Apparently the houseguests are all receiving unconscious bias training but not sure how much or when it was.

Also, I agree with the second bolded statement however many are saying if you feel that way it's an unconscious bias even though they've shown in the past they will blow up. I certainly think we should be celebrating diversity and keep encouraging it into the game, but at at the end of the day I want 14-16 gamers who will play the game and not make it personal to other houseguests.
