Big Brother 21

I don't think it's 100 percent racism. However, none of the three really did anything to get evicted. That and if you hear some of the stuff CBS isn't showing. It goes back to racism. I just saw who won HOH and I hope that person go's after some big dogs. Should be a fun week unless that person is easily influenced.

Yes for sure CBS is all over the place on the issue. However, personally I don't mind putting 3 people of color up at the same time even if the optics "look" bad from how they were booted by the white people. People on twitter going nuts about it are somewhat adding to the problem pointing out that it's 3 people of color up there when we should just be focusing on what they say.

I think CBS cuts off his racist stuff or else it will be seen as them condoning it. No positive either way, except it keeps them from looking like they support it.

I think that's huge misfire on CBS's part. To me it supports it more by cutting him rather than exposing him as a monster. They're essentially protecting him. Listen to this podcast (around minute 23). I think its really explains it well.

I don't mind it if they are on the other alliance. However, they went right for them right off the bat. There is another part of the issue also. Two of them said they needed to stick together because they are people of color. That was in the first couple of days. I don't see how that isn't somewhat racist also. Same with when women start an all womens alliance. That exludes men.

Didn't listen to the podcast yet, but wanted to comment on the cut/don't cut theory. Since my mind draws parallels in real life events to sports (sounds stupid, I realize that), it makes me think about a GM of a team that drafted a player that wasn't very good. Instead of cutting them after year two or three, they stick with them not willing to admit they made a mistake in scouting/talent evaluation. Maybe they try to protect their "pick" to try to give them every chance possible to make them look good.

Couldn't agree more. Why is it okay for women to have a women alliance, but if the men do it its sexist? Things either have to be cool or condemned both ways. If we want equality, the standards should be the same no matter what.

We all know the women alliance is a joke at this point because it never works. They can never just stick together on this show whether it be the casting, relationships or empathy in general. The reverse racism angle I kinda get but to me, when you are a token casting in the minds of the houseguest, I believe its coming from a vulnerable angle, not a racist one tbh.

Bottom line for me is that CBS put these people in a petri dish and unless there is physical violence or a call for physical violence, they should be allowed to say whatever the hell the want even if its horrible things such as racist/bigoted comments. Let America see those people for who they are. Freedom of speech is a double edged sword if you're a dbag and you should be exposed.

If you guys are bored or a nerd like me, go back and watch seasons 2-7. The amount of homophobia (and somewhat racism) is off the charts and the show let it all air even on TV. It's just interesting to me how different things were 15 years ago.

My daughter is 15. We watch together. Every year the women start an all womens alliance. She just says "Dad why do they do this every year for it only to fall apart in a week". It's always a joke.

The problem seems to be the kind of the type of black people they cast. This year has been a little different. The three booted are not the normal crazy black person they normally cast. They usually cast an over the top religious black lady who can't separate the game from Jesus. They always tend to cast an overly cocky black guy who rubs people the wrong way and thinks he is in charge of the whole house.

That is what sucks about this year. They seem to have casted three level headed people and the twist basically screwed the first guy. They seem to have targeted Ovi for him trying to be to nice to people and the third girl just happened to not play the game fast enough to get into the right alliance.

Going along with that 3 on screen at the end combined with BB's camp comeback twist where they stayed in the house but the HG's still in the game made the 3 camp comebackers feel to be inferior to them.

I read/heard somewhere where production is trying to bait Kemi into becoming the angry black girl. She's being herself and its not "black" enough. I love Kemi even though she's not a great game player. She's been fun to watch and hasnt been treated well.

I've watched since the first season and it's all about getting in with the right crew. The first three didn't get in with the right crew from the start and they happen to not be white.

Look back at the history and most of the people voted off right away were white. If anyone has a history of being voted off early it's old white guys. I'd say it has less to do with them being white and more to do with them having terrible social game, not being bright, and limited physical skills.

I agree. This season though is different. The houseguests who nominated these three have been saying some racist stuff. So maybe they didn't intend to vote all three out first. Mixed with the racist banter and the first three being people of color. Not a good look.

Normally I'd 10000% agree with you, but this is a little bit more grey because of all the implicitly racist comments.

I would add that it's entirely possible they didn't "get in the right crew" because they were purposely not included due to the obvious factor. I am not saying that is what is going on but it's a possibility. To me, early on it just takes one person to throw a claim or opinion about someone to sway an early opinion because no one wants to get "blood on their hands" early on as HOH so if another person voices a dislike for someone else, the HOH already knows someone wont care if said person is nominated. It makes the pick easier since there isn't much of any relationship established at that point. Kimi was originally targeted because of her friendship with Bella (Which Bella ruined because she is a garbage person). There was a bunch of jelly Gr8ful members that decided to target her and Jack especially had a hard-on to eliminate her for some reason. Aside from the racial things discussed, has Kimi ever done anything to warrant that alliances insistence that she be targeted?
